Who is your favourite starter?

Gen 1: Squirtle
Gen 2: Cyndaquil
Gen 3: Torchic
Gen 4: Piplup
Gen 5: Snivy
Gen 6: Fennekin


Very first Pokemon I ever chose back in gen 1 Pokemon Blue Bersion was Squirtle. This will never change. I know everyone loves Charizard and it's almost impossible not to but Squirtle will always be my favorite gen 1 starter.

As for gen 2, I had Pokemon Gold Version. Of course I chose Cyndaquil because it looked cool. I kept it in my party all the way to the Elite Four and it treated me well.

Gen 3 was tough for me. I never chose grass starters because I don't like them much so I had to chose between Mudkip and Torchic. There was a lot of hype going around about Mudkip but with my Pokemon Ruby version I decided to stick with Torchic. (Though this changed to Mudkip once I got Sapphire, years later.)

Now I haven't really gotten a chance to play Gen 4 all that much because I don't have D/P/PL on the DS so I was forced to use an emulator (which run incredibly slow). I've played up to the first gym and the starter I chose was Piplup. The reason I did so was because the other starters looked kind of iffy and as I said before, I don't do grass types. (I eventually abandoned Piplup for a flying type)

Like gen 4, I haven't really gotten into gen 5. I'm sort of an old school Pokemon fan. But if I had to chose from the starters I'd go with Snivy. The third evolution is so amazing looking and I don't see how I could chose any other Pokemon. I know that choosing Pokemon on looks alone is a dumb thing to do but when you get a new Pokemon game that you know nothing about, The type and aesthetics are all you really have.

Gen 6 isn't out yet of course, however the change from fire/fighting has me super excited. I'm going with Fennekin all the way. I've heard rumors about it being fire/psychic but just plain old fire would do it for me.

Hoenn: Torchic/Sceptile
Sinnoh: Piplup/Empoleon (but Grotle is the best of all stages)
Unova: Tepig/none (I hate them all fully evolved)
Gen 6: Fennekin

lol, you forgot more than half of the starters, but whatever. Mudkip is clearly my favourite, and he will always be. The swampert line is soo cool

Blaziken just wants to be a Garudamon.

Bulbasaur, Totodile, Treecko, Chimchar and Oshawott are my absolute favourites, but I still like Squirtle, Charmander, Cyndaquil, Piplup and Snivy. I only really dislike Torchic and Tepig's evolutionary lines.

I never said she couldn't like infernape. I'm not the biggest fan of it, but I don't hate it. Although, there are a lot of blaziken lovers on this site. It's quite clear that Blaziken is dominant, I can easily see this I haven't even been on here very long. Not all the blaziken fans may be quite as easy going with an infernape fan as you are. There typically seems to be a few people who get angry with someone who likes something different than them, such as an infernape over blaziken fan.

Yeah, I can attest, but I'm next in line for hating infernape the most and loving blaziken the most.

Out of the Gen 6 starters, Fennekin is my favorite. I like how it is a fox and yet is very different from Vulpix. It has a different feel to it and doesn't scream rip off like Plusle and Minun had with Pikachu.
