Sphynoix in my mind would have a resemblance to the Great Sphinx in Egypt but I forgot to say it also has a long curved beak. I was thinking it is one of the heaviest Pokemon and may look sluggish but that's where you are wrong. It has an incredible high Speed stat and the Pokedex entey states that it can cause an earthquake when it lands and its wings are so large it blocks out the sun while flying. Does that make it sound cooler?
Yep that's really cool

Here's the basic animal the starters are based off of, you can go in depth on your own.

Water: A Wolf(?) with final typing to be water/dark

Fire: Maybe a tiger that starts off cute than turns into a strong, good looking tiger. Final typing is pure fire

Grass: A floating seed that in its final form turns into a bunch of beautiful flowers. Pure grass

Captain Jigglypuff

How about a lobster type Pokemon clad in metal plates? It's typing is Water/Steel and it is called Lobsteel.

That could be the starter!

It should be "Lobstiel" so it's not too much a give away to what type it is.

Captain Jigglypuff

^Good point. I was thinking its level up moves include Crabhammer (of course!), Bullet Punch, Metal Burst, and Iron Head. I came up with the idea for this Pokemon around the same time as Gen 3 was announced.

Lobsteel and Lobstiel are decent names, but I'm sure Clobster would work better. Since the words "clobber" and "lobster" are much closer to each other than "lobster" and "steel," they mix pretty well. Its name would also recognize Crabhammer.

It doesn't sound too much like Cloyster either. It's only that close in spelling if you noticed.

Wolstenholme

Maybe that can be it's evolution!

Lobstiel sounds kind of middle evo is, it needs a name for the basic pokemon.

NTN

Yes, because I'm sure CJ was planning for Lobstiel's pre-evolution to be "Rockster," if I remember correctly.

Sarcasm levels rising!

ermmmm.... how about Shrympe pronounced Shrimp-ee or something like that?

NTN

Eh... I was being serious. He really did try to post this on other, older topics with a prevo called "Rockster" included... or something. Look up old topics, you thing.

Shrympe? Where's the combination of words?
I am your master.

Wolstenholme

Not every Pokemon name is a combo of words! think about..........Lugia. That's not two words slammed together!

NTN

#27
Lugia is very well 2+ words slammed together, I'd have to tell you. Shrympe is a name to be given to an ordinary shrimp. It should have attributes, behavior, physiology, and typing, some of which should be hinted at in the name, or else it's something strangely plain. I think there's more to be told about this Pokémon where its name is other than just "Shrympe."

I couldn't think of anything else :(

Shrympedo? Maybe, that's the best I can do.
