This will be a diary of mine and Dick's attempt at playing through Pokemon X with Nuzlocke conditions. The rules are:

-Any Pokemon that faints is considered dead, and must be released.

- The player may only catch the first Pokémon encountered in each area, and none else. If the first Pokémon encountered faints or flees, there are no second chances.
- All Pokemon must be nicknamed
- Considering a black out/white out to be "game over," even if there are Pokémon left in the PC.
- Going to options and making the battle style "set". Making you unable to switch out between your foes' Pokémon.
- No catching/using of legendaries.
- Exp. Share will be turned off.
- Gift Pokemon are not allowed
>Exception is given to Lapras only if you need a Pokemon to use Surf, and Lapras cannot be used in battle

We'll be starting off with a scene setter, and then we'll be posting our diary entry updates in a story style. Without further adieu...

Being an archeologist in this age is the most exciting thing I could possibly imagine. My line of work leads me to not only discover long-lost Pokemon, but to revitalize them, bring them back to life, and re-breed the species out of extinction. My findings have led to the rebirth of such species as Aerodactyl, Shieldon, and Archen. After what I've just found, those discoveries pale in comparison.

---

"What is it?" The man's voice cracked in fear of the monstrousity before him. "I don't know exactly, Kain. I found this stone while excavating the cave. When I touched it, Aerodactyl's Pokeball began shaking violently, and it destroyed the ball by itself. It grabbed the stone and transformed into an uncontrollable monster. It was only with the help of Poliwhirl and Sandslash that I was able to subdue it, but Poliwhirl's Hypnosis won't last forever. It crash-landed on that cliff once it fell asleep. We have to climb up and retrieve it." Kain looked bewildered, but nodded in agreement of what his co-worker Allan said. The two had worked together for just about four months now and Kain was just beginning to learn the ropes of archeology, but had studied under Allan tirelessly. As the two men scaled the jagged wall of the cliff, a deafening screech echoed from above, making their blood run cold. Aerodactly had awakened and flew from the cliff like lightning, turning to assault the two men. Allan quickly climbed onto the cliff and pulled Kain with him, the two just narrowly avoiding Aerodactyl's claws. The scraping sound against the wall was painful to listen to, causing Kain to cover his ears while Allan screamed for Poliwhirl to Hydro Pump. Aerodactyl gracefully swooped out of the way of the attack and began turning to make another pass at them. Kain released Heliolisk and issued a Thunderbolt, clipping the wing of Aerodactyl as it flew at them.

Their eyes widened, and they knew it was too late to act. Aerodactyl smashed into the two men and rolled off the small cliff, tumbling down and hitting the floor, unconscious. Kain laid on his back, and looked around, unable to locate Allan. "Help, please!" The urgent cry came from over the cliff and Kain turned to look over the edge, holding his ribcage. Allan was hanging by his left arm, and reaching up with his right. In this moment, Kain eyes fixated on the Aerodactyl on the ground, motionless. "Kain, please, pull me up!" Allan pleaded, feeling his grip loosening. Kain's face twisted into a sinister grin...

"Come on, boys, we don't have all day!" Mom's voice echoed through our small new home. Our family and neighbors just moved to Vaniville Town to follow our father's line of work. It was the same story every 3-4 years: Dad would get an itch to go abroad to make more new discoveries, and we'd get dragged along with him.

"We're not even finished unpacking mom, geez!" I retorted, stamping down the stairs in a huff. When I saw Dad was on the holochip, I froze and straightened up. "Oh, hi Dad!" I said nervously, hoping I wouldn't receive another holo-scolding. "Leon, call your brother down too, this is important" He said seriously, but before I had a chance, Sebastion came rushing down the stairs. "Hey Dad!" Sebastion shouted a bit too excitedly, freezing up when he saw Dad's stern expression. "I've sent you two a parcel containing two eggs of fossilized Pokemon that we've been breeding. I want you both to take one. Don't worry, we've managed to discover that these Pokemon are much more tame than their pre-historic counterparts. You two are finally old enough to join me in my field of work, as unpaid interns of course. I believe the cave we've been excavating may house some incredible finds, and I want you two to be here when we unearth whatever is hidden in this cave. Please hurry you two, I can't dely excavation much longer."

With that, the Holo Clip communication ended. There was no time for a reply, and Mom looked visibly concerned. Before anything could be said, though, the doorbell rang, and I went to the door. A man stood with a box, grinning ear to ear with a sharp gaze. "Hello! You must be Leon. I trust your father has explained everything, so I'll make my visit brief." The man shoved the box at me and leaned in close. "Whatever happens from now on, just remember that it is all happening for a reason." he stated before turning and walking away. I ignored whatever that was supposed to mean and opened the box, grabbing and Egg, and Sebastion did the same. A claw broke through the egg and I peeled the shell back to reveal a Kabuto, an ancient Pokemon that has only been revitalized and bred in laboratories within the last 15 years. The rush of having my own Pokemon felt incredible and I ran out the door without wasting a single moment.

---
I've hatched Kabuto and began training it. He's a powerful Pokemon, and can take hits exceptionally well! This is so exciting!

As I pulled the egg out of the parcel, I got an overwhelming sense of excitement. I looked to Leon's hatching egg, it was some horribly ugly... Thing? I don't really know what it was, but I sure hoped mine was a little less ugly. I listened closely, trying to hear what my Pokemon might sound like inside the egg. Suddenly, the egg jumped out my hands and shattered mid air, and a rocky bird began flying round the room!

"Zazu," I said quietly, "You're called Zazu." I told my new partner. I ran out, hoping to catch Leon before he left town. I ran outside, mum yelling "Be careful, Sebastian!" After me. She worries I'm not as strong as Leon. We'll see about that.

I looked down route 1 and saw what looked like Leon in the next town, so I ran after him, assuming we were travelling to Ambrette together. "Hey Leon!" I shouted after him, "Could of at least waited for me in Vaniville" I said, frowning. "You know we're not going to travel together, right Seb?" Leon explained, not even looking up from training his Pokemon. Surely if we're going to the same town anyway we should travel together? I mean, it's not like he had any street cred in the first place, so travelling with his brother won't make him lose any.

"Sebastian. Not Seb." I coldly replied. I hate it when he calls me Seb, it's like half a name. "But fine, I wouldn't want to travel with you anyway, you smell." And with that, I stormed off to route 2. Serena was there - she's my dad's colleagues daughter, and she's a really good trainer! Her partner is a Chespin, I mean... It's kinda ugly, but not Leon's partner level of ugly, you know what I mean? I smiled, and Serena began to speak;

"Hey Sebastian,' she cheerfully said, "I heard you got a Pokémon! Say, might you need help catching more?". "More? Why would I need more? Are you saying Zazu isn't strong enough?" I retorted defensively, still riled up from my brother's idiocy. I realized my tone came off more harshly than I'd intended and felt my face flush with embarrassment.

"I take it you've fallen out with Leon again?" She asked, rolling her eyes round her head to show her disapproval. She turned round and giggled. "Watch this!" She ran into the grass and was sprang on by a wild Pokémon. She launched a Pokéball into the air releasing her Fletchling. Now that is a cute Pokémon! It fired an attack at the Bunnelby, dealing huge damage and then Serena lobbed a Pokéball at it, light bursting out and ensnaring the little rabbit.

"It's gone! What did you do to it!" I yelled, worried for Bunnelby's safety. "Calm down, it's fine, I caught it. Watch." Serena replied, releasing Bunnelby from it's ball back into the wild. "Oh. I knew that. Just testing you." I covered for myself, feeling like an idiot for thinking she'd hurt it.

"Anyway Sebastian, take these, you'll need them if you're going to catch more Pokémon" she said, a strange smile on her face, passing me 10 pokéballs.

I decided to catch something, and my first encounter on this route was a Scatterbug, Male. I caught it and named it Comet.

-----

- Received Zazu (Archen M) Egg from a strange delivery guy. I really love Dad's job sometimes ^.^

- Argued with Leon, he says we can't travel together. Smelly brother. Wouldn't want to travel with him anyway, bad for my nose.

- Serena taught me how to catch, giving me 10 pokéballs with which to do so.

- Caught Comet (Scatterbug M), and began training it.

Yeah, given this is Dick's first real Nuzlocke and that's his favorite fossil, we just went with it. Thanks for the support, guys! We have some interesting things planned for sure, hope you stick with us!

After some training, I decided to catch up to the others. Serena gave me 10 Pokeballs before departing with the rest of the group. Here I found a Scatterbug, which I easily captured and named Andy. It's a weak Pokemon and after only a few battles, I've decided that I won't be raising it.

Santalune Forest is as pleasant a forest as I could imagine. I saw Seb running off with Serena ahead and I quickened my pace to catch up, but stopped when I saw a small Pokemon crawl out of the grass. Another caterpiller Pokemon, Weedle. I tossed a Pokeball at it and captured it immediately, naming it Perrywinkle. Looking back up to see that Seb and Serena were out of view. I went running through the forest, beating a few kids along the way. It's at this point that I've noticed that Lloyd is a reclusive Pokemon, so I sat and spent some time with it. It's hard to be affectionate with a Pokemon that can't be pet. After spending some time with it, however, I feel we may have a closer bond.

Exiting the forest, I battled my way through a few Trainers and managed to catch a Burmy that I've decided to call David. Getting kind of sick of Bug Pokemon though. Upon arriving in Santalune City, I found Seb talking with Serena in front of the Gym. "What are you doing, Dad told us to get to Ambrette immediately!" I shouted annoyedly. "Psh! It's a Bug type Gym, and Serena tells me that both of Zazu's types are strong against Bugs! It will only take a minute to beat her!" He scoffed arrogantly. I felt my blood boil, not out of anger, but of my competitive spirit. I rushed past him and entered the Gym, grabbing the silk rope and sliding down into the Gym area. The entire Gym was built on a spider web, and balancing was difficult. I nearly toppled over when I realized that there were see-through handrails that allowed ease of passage. The Gym Trainers were all horribly easy, and making my way to Viola had me very confident. I issued my challenge, and was immediately blinded by her snapping a picture of my face.

She tossed out a Pokemon called Surskit, and I sent in Lloyd. It fired off a Bubble attack which Lloyd handled easily, responding with a Smack Down, easily KOing the pond skater. She then sent out Vivillon, which used Infestation. Kabuto's Smack Down, once again, was enough to end this match quickly and concisely.

I strolled out of the Gym confidently, holding my Bug Badge proudly. "Your turn, Seb" I could feel the venom dripping from my words as our competitive natures were getting the best of us. "Try not to take too much time, I'll be waiting in Ambrette!" I jabbed, before rushing off on my roller skates.

---

-Caught Andy the Scatterbug. It's terribly weak and not worth using.

-Perrywinkle and David are also horribly weak, the latter not knowing any damaging moves. I'm just going to have to rely on Lloyd...

-I defeated Leader Viola easily, winning a Gym Badge! I'm not really going for the Gym challenge, but it was nice to earn a badge before Sebastian!

We'd kinda decided on a fossil theme and every other fossil is ugly xD Nah, Archeops is cute though, it shouldn't fly but it does =P But yeah, thanks for the nice comments, appreciate them ^^

I tried to enter after Leon, but I was stopped and told only one challenger may enter at a time. Ah well, Leon's got that ugly thing, so he'll probably lose. I decided I may as well go to Route 22 and catch a Pokémon there. I managed to get a Psyduck, not bad, named it Don. I returned from Route 22 to see Leon leaving the Santalune Gym, flashing his new Bug Badge around. Damn. I wanted to beat him to it to prove I'm better. I tried to avoid his notice before entering the gym, but was met by snide comments off him, so I ran into the gym and slammed the door. There were bugs everywhere. I hate bugs. Bluh.

I beat the gym trainers with ease, Archen squishes them like... Well, bugs? The web I was walking on was absolutely not good for my shoes, I knew I'd need to find a boutique and quickly! I approached the gym leader, and was met by the flash of a camera;

"So photogenic!" The gym leader exclaimed, from behind her camera. "Hey, I'm Sebastian, are you Viola?" I asked, trying to hold back my nerves. She moved her head out from behind the camera to give me a reply; "Why yes, you must be a challenger? Two in one day, that's a rarity! Do me a favour and try to look good losing, will you?" she smirked, as if her victory was assured.

"Don't be so sure," I replied, throwing a Pokéball in the air, Viola throwing one up also. Comet burst out of it's ball, and was met by what I now know is Surskit. "W-What is that thing?" I asked, quite shocked, "It's a Surskit," Viola replied, "Water and Bug type, quite a pain if you don't deal with it correctly." It looked fast, so I ordered Vivillon to do something to stop that.

"Comet, Stun Spore, go!" I shouted,  hoping to stop Surskit in it's tracks. Comet fluttered it's wings, scattering green spores over Viola's Pokémon. As I'd hoped, Surskit's legs froze as it tried to make an attack, leaving it helpless as I commanded my Vivillon to make it's next move;

I commanded Comet to release it's attack, dealing massive damage to Viola's Surskit. It was certainly in range for just one more attack to kill it!

"Surskit hang in there!" Yelled Viola, worried for her Surskit's well being. "Use Bubble now!" She commanded, her Surskit barely pulling off the attack. Vivillon was hit, but it only clipped it's wings, leaving it merely stunned.

"Comet, let's finish her off, use Struggle Bug, now!" I instructed, my Vivillon unleashing it's attack once again, this time making Surskit lose it's balance before falling unconscious.

"Impressive," Viola praised, "but do you really have what it takes to beat something as photogenic as my Vivillon?". She tossed her second pokéball into the air, releasing a Vivillon who's beauty dwarfed that of my own. I knew Comet would not win against this Vivillon, so I had to switch;

"Comet, you did good, let's let Zazu finish this!" I exclaimed, returning Comet to his pokéball, whilst throwing the ball which contained my trusted partner. Zazu came out, to be met by Viola's commanding tone;

"Vivillon, tackle now!" She yelled, clearly worried that she may lose now. I knew I had this in the bag, as tackle barely left a scratch on my Archen. I knew this victory would have made dad proud, now just to make it happen!

"Zazu, let's bury that butterfly! Rock Throw now!" I yelled, eager to finish this. Zazu folded it's wings, spat a rock into his hand, and launched it straight at Viola's Vivillon, knocking it out of the sky and squishing it flat.

"Vivillon come back!" Viola exclaimed. "My my, Sebastian, you're quite the photogenic battler. I can't thank you enough for the beautiful photo's this battle has given me! Please, take the Bug Badge, you really do deserve it!" She said, kindly, presenting me with a shiny new Bug Badge to add to my currently empty badge case. "And of course," she added, "I feel I should give you something extra, please take this TM as thanks!".

"Thank you so much!" I said, still excited that I managed to win my first gym battle so flawlessly, "I hope to see you again soon, it was a pleasure to meet you!" I said, leaving the gym.

I went onwards to the next route, which I must say was absolutely beautiful next to the disgusting gym I'd just been in. I ran round in the grass till I saw my first Pokémon; A Skitty! Managed to catch it and nickname it Joanne, it got added straight to my team, it's so kawaii!

I battled the trainers on the route, and then came to the end of the route, and went through the gate. The city that awaited me on the other side was nothing short of breathtaking. Buildings rose higher than Zazu had ever flown, the streets were busy with people of all groups. I could see a boutique across the road, time to get some new shoes!

When I tried to reach the boutique, however, I was met by a council worker saying that there's a blackout so that half the city is out of limits. Shame, that boutique looked really good. I decided to visit a Café, and waiting outside was Serena!

We caught up, and then when inside where we saw someone who's name I'd heard dad mention as a friend; Kain. Serena said he's as famous off an archeologist as dad, both making tonnes of discoveries all the time! "Oh, you must be Allen's Son, Leon?" He asked. I frowned, and replied "No, he's the loser, I'm Sebastian, the cool son." Kain laughed, "Nothing like a bit of sibling rivalry I suppose! Anyway, I better be off to the work site, I hope to see you soon, Seb." He said, leaving the café. I muttered "Sebastian" under my breath, correcting him, and then said farewell to Serena and left.

- Caught Weedle (Barry) in Santalune Forest. It's kinda ugly, but I've heard it evolves into a pretty awesome bee!

- Caught Bidoof (Not even nicknamed, wasn't using it xD) on Route 3, it looked like it had horrible facial disfigurements and then got hit by a truck. Eww.

- Caught Psyduck (Don) on Route 22. It was cool, but it didn't really suit my team so it's just kind of there... Need to replace it.

- Smashed Viola into pulp. She's such a pushover. And has a disgusting gym. Never going back there ever again.

- Caught Skitty (Joanne) on Route 4. It's so cute, so I've kept it on my team for now, but it's a little weak.

While Seb was busy plodding along in my tracks at the Gym, I went out to Route 22 to see what kind of Pokemon I could find here. Here I found a scrappy little Riolu! Finally a Pokemon I can be proud of! I need this. Lloyd began the battle with a Scratch attack, but the wild Riolu used Counter! Lloyd struggled to keep himself standing, and I panicked. I recalled him and sent Perrywinkle in his place. The Riolu used Quick Attack, delivering what I now know is called a "Critical Hit"... the Weedle lowered his head just before the attack and struck with Poison Point... but the hit was incredibly powerful. I tried to recall Perrywinkle to his Pokeball, but it wouldn't work. I threw a Pokeball at Riolu hard and rushed over to Weedle's side... it wouldn't move.

I sat outside of the Pokemon Center, eyes focused on something that wasn't there. I'd seen Pokemon lose a battle before, it was called "fainting". Not death. I held Riolu's ball in my hand, and my stomach churned. I had a new Pokemon, but at the cost of another. What is happening? "I see you've met with your first loss" The upbeat voice was familiar. I looked up to see the man that had delivered our eggs. "Cheer up, lad. Loss is a natural part of life" He smiled, clasping his hands together. "I don't want to lose my friends!" I shouted back, cursing myself mentally as my voice cracked and tears flooded my eyes. "A journey such as yours is bound to be filled with loss. Mourning is natural," He trailed off for a moment, stroking his chin. "But it cannot be allowed to impede your progress. Your father is waiting, after all!" I raised an eyebrow, suddenly aware that I didn't know this man, nor how he knew anything about me. "Wait, who are you?" As I asked, I heard a loud commotion behind me and turned to see what it was. Turning back, the man was gone.

The commotion was cheers from Seb's friends as he walked out of the Gym, presumably winning his first badge. I immediately picked myself up and wiped the tears from my face. I can't let him see me being weak. I've always been the strong brother, and despite us being (dizygotic) twins, I've always taken on the role of older brother, while he's been more carefree and immature. I don't think he likes that, and we've become very competitive over the years. I quickly moved on to Route 4 before he had a chance to see me.

Take a deep breath, Leon. Dad needs you. I repeatedly told myself. I've decided to let go of the anger and begin training Riolu. I'll need powerful Pokemon to get me to Ambrette Town. Route 4 found me facing down a Ledbya. I know this is a weak Pokemon. I know it would take it an hour to knock out any of my Pokemon. But entering another battle has me shaking. I decided I'd use my new Riolu, which I have named Ryu. I can't afford to lose Lloyd... I can't disappoint Dad. "Quick Attack", I muttered nervously. Ryu smiled and nodded, rushing at the bug and knocking it onto the ground. It confusedly let out a Supersonic attack that didn't seem to effect Riolu at all. I threw a Pokeball and captured the Ledbya, naming it Rena.

I thought Lumiose City would be something I'd spend a great deal of time writing about, but there seems to be a blackout at the moment. Not worth wasting time in a city with nothing to offer.

Moving on to Route 5, I began battling some of the local Trainers, and started regaining confidence. Ryu and Lloyd even teamed up to beat a Plusle and Minun team in a double battle, and I couldn't be more proud. I managed to catch a female Bunnelby as well, and named her Lisa. She's not powerful, but she's an excellent scavenger, and has brought me a few items that other Trainers must have dropped along the way, which is very valuable.

Then... there was another Trainer. I confidently sent Ryu out of his ball, only to be met with a Kadabra. Kadabra is one of those Pokemon that isn't fully evolved, but has offensive capabilities on par with most fully evolved Pokemon. It also happens to be Psychic type, something that will put Ryu down in a single shot. My heart began to race; I couldn't leave Ryu in, and I couldn't switch Lloyd directly into a Confusion attack. I am ashamed at what I have to write... I had no choice. I recalled Ryu and tossed David into the battle. One Confusion and it was over. I threw Lloyd into battle and commanded a Smack Down attack, dropping the Kadabra immediately... but I had lost yet another Pokemon. I vowed from this moment on that I would train harder and get stronger. I will never lose another Pokemon again.

I've rested in Camphrier Town for now to do so more dedicated training before moving on. I know Dad wants us to hurry, but something is wrong... my Pokemon are dying and I can't let that happen. I've overheard the locals talking about something that happened in Ambrette, but couldn't quite catch it. I hope we haven't missed a big discovery already!

---

-Perrywinkle died while trying to catch a wild Riolu. I'm not sure what's going on, but this isn't supposed to be happen.

-I caught the Riolu that killed Perrywinkle. He seems unaware of what happened... I've tried to let go of my anger and have begun training him, giving him the name Ryu. He's a happy Pokemon that tries hard to impress me in battle.

-I caught a Ledyba that I've named Rena. Battling again after Perrywinkle's death was scary, so I'm kind of glad that this encounter wasn't something more powerful.

-I skipped through Lumiose City and onto Route 5, catching a Bunnelby. She can't battle at all, but she has taken to scavenging for items for me, which has been helpful. Here I found a Trainer with a Kadabra, and was forced to sacrifice David. I feel awful about it, and I've made a vow to never lose another Pokemon again.

Upon arriving in Camphrier, the first thing I noticed was the beautiful castle. Shabboneau Castle, it's called. After healing my friends at the Pokémon center, I went up to the castle. It was even more amazing up close, the stunning architecture was so intricate and the hand crafted stone was just brilliant. I can't believe Leon is so much of an uncultured swine he hasn't even bothered to visit here!

I went inside, and was met by Serena talking to a black belt, having a conversation about the origins of the art design featured on the buildings murals. Suddenly a man rushed in, "It's back! It's not usually here this early but it's back on route 7! What do we do?" He yelled, I didn't have a clue what was going on but the black belt apologized to Serena and ran off to route 7.

"Oh, hey Sebastian!" She said, having only just noticed me, "I take it you'll be off to route 7 now to see what's going on?" She inquired. "Absolutely, you know me too well." I replied, laughing. She offered to go with me, and so we left to be nosy and see what was going on.

When we arrived, we saw what looked like a giant totoro on the bridge. It was asleep, blocking all access, and the black belt from earlier explained a Poké Flute was needed but the only one is at Parfum Palace, so Serena and I agreed to get it for him.

Palais Lane was beautiful, and I managed to catch an Espurr! It was rather Timid, I decided to name it Selena. In Serena's words, 'it's so kawaii'. We reached the end of the route and had to pay a 1000 pokédollar entry fee! After paying, we entered to be met by a man worried about his Furfrou, but I was too busy staring at the stunning gold statue to stop Serena offering to help. Bluh. Looks like I'll have to be helpful.

We decided to search the gardens, and sure enough we found it. After a bit of chasing, we managed to finally corner it, and took it back to the owner who insisted on putting a fireworks display for us! I love fireworks! They're so beautiful, how they light up the sky in pretty colours! He took us up to a balcony and begun the display.

"You know, Sebastian," Serena whispered, "I'm really glad I got to see something as beautiful as this with you. This is a moment I'll never forget." I smiled, and replied "It really is an amazing sight, and I can say for certain there's no one I'd rather see it with" and as I finished my sentence, the fireworks ended, and after begging the owner of the palace, we took the Poké Flute back to Route 7.

The Pokémon, a Snorlax, began to woke up as soon as it heard the melody, it rose up looking like Leon trying to get out of bed on a Monday and begun to attack. I pushed Serena back, not wanting her to get hurt, and smashed Snorlax into the ground with Zazu's Wing Attack. Serena and I then went out separate ways, and I caught a cute little Flabébé on route 7, but it wasn't ready for battle, so I just left it in the box. I ran down the route as fast as I could, but my haste ended up having dire consequences. Comet was struck by a flying Ducklett's Wing Attack. It fell to the ground and didn't move... I was worried, I had to get to Ambrette quickly and see if it was okay! I stormed through Connecting Cave catching a Meditite on the way, then rushed down route 8 only stopping to catch a Drifloon, named Dylan.

I arrived at the Ambrette Town Pokémon center, no Leon in site. I went to the desk and showed them comet...

----

- Caught Furfrou (Roger) on Route 5, it's so cute and I've heard it can get trims!

- Caught Espurr (Selena) on Route 6, it's really cute and it's nature really suits it!

- Caught Flabébé on route 7, it's kinda hasty and rubbish so I boxed it.

- Comet fainted on Route 7, it fluttered it's wings and collapsed! I hope it's okay.

- Caught Meditite (Kory) in connecting cave, it's insanely powerful but doesn't have very good techniques. Probably will be boxed.

- Caught Drifloon (Dylan) on Route 8, it's very cute so I hope it'll be good and last a long time!

- Arrived at the Ambrette Pokémon Center with no sign of Leon.

I see you left Shauna out, good one.

It's cool, but it's just the one for you so far unlike Rich! Shame, the three losses so far are tragic D:

Loving the story format and the opposites both of the characters are to each other.

Thanks guys! Yeah, losing Pokemon so early on was discouraging. Let's hope I did better this time around! D:

---

I saw Seb coming into Camphrire Town and heading off to some kind of castle place, so I decided to get a jump on him by moving on right away. Route six has found me facing down a few easy Trainers with nothing notable to write about, and finding a Sentret. I've captured it and called him Ricky. There's a giant mansion on this Route, but the guy wanted 1000 for entry, so I turned around. I've got better things to do anyway.

Route 7 is a really pretty route. I'm not usually one to stop and smell the roses, but watching the sunset over the river is beautiful. Speaking of roses, this route has found me a Roselia, which I've captured and named Ruby. After testing him out in battle, I've found out that he's really strong! Shockingly so, even! My team feels so powerful, I'm not gonna let any of my friends die anymore, I promise!

Connecting Cave... this is what I live for. Spelunking is a hobby of mine I've had from a young age. I suppose I must've gotten it from Dad when he used to take us through the Three Island Path ruins, to stop us from wandering into Berry Forest. Regardless, I found a Meditite here that I've called Max, and I know these are powerful Pokemon, but this one seems to hate using physical attacks. A Meditite that won't use physical attacks isn't very useful. Stubborn thing. Ryu's Fighting attacks are better anyway. More importantly, I've found some neat items in here!

Exiting the cave is bittersweet. I'm close to Ambrette now, but now I'm not digging around the cave anymore. Ah well, that's what we're going to Ambrette for anyway! A stray balloon floated by on this route and I didn't really pay much attention to it until it grabbed my arm and flung me against the wall of a cliff! I tossed Ruby's Pokeball forward and commanded a Grasswhistle attack to put it to sleep. I've caught the pest, a Drifloon apparently, and named it Xenon, after the villain of my favorite movie. Don't think I'll be using this thing.

Finally arriving in Ambrette, I made my way to the Fossil Laboratory to find the place in an uproar. I looked around for Dad, but didn't see him anywhere. Suddenly the room became aware of my entrance, and fell silent. "What's going on?" I asked nervously. You know that feeling when you know you're about to get bad news, and all you can do is wait to hear it? That feeling dragged on for what felt like minutes as the scientists and diggers looked around at each other. "Where's my dad?!" I demanded, frantic to have my gut feeling dispelled. A man stepped forward, clutching a clipboard tightly against his chest. "Leon, correct?" I nodded slowly, feeling my heart begin to pound in my chest. "I'm so sorry... your father has passed away" My blood ran cold and I inhaled sharply. The man began explaining the events at Glittering Cave. How Dad had made a shocking discovery, and how Kain betrayed him and stole his Aerodactyl. "I was there... I came into that room of the cave just as your father was hanging from the ledge... Kain pushed" He was stopped by another man in the room snapping his name, and took a few steps back, leaving the room.

My eyes welled with tears and I ran from the building. I felt myself running faster than I had ever run, aimlessly. I could feel my blood boiling beneath my skin. I failed... if I had gotten here sooner, dad wouldn't have died. I could have saved him... I would have killed Kain with my bare hands. I collapsed onto the ground and sobbed hard, my angry thoughts dissolving into the realization that I would never see Dad again.

"I'm sorry to hear about your father, Leon" I looked up, ready to lash out at whoever was speaking. Wiping my eyes of tears, I found the old man that had given me the box of eggs, sitting on a nearby bench. "You! Tell me who you are right now! What do you want from me?!" He pat the bench, raising his eyebrows sympathetically. I immediately felt guilty and wiped my nose feeling embarrassed, and hesitantly joining him on the bench. "To deal with death, especially of one you're so close to, is a difficult thing. I know it hurts right now, and there's nothing I can say to remove that pain right now. What you need to do is focus this energy into something positive. You may not believe it, Leon, but I've been in your position before. It is unfortunate that you couldn't meet with your father, but this has set a new path for you. You will discover what you are meant to be doing in time, I promise you." The man stood from the bench, looking out over the cliff at the ocean. "Cherish the time you have with your loved ones. Keep them close, and guard them well," he turned to me, and cracked a smile. "And remember, Leon... everything is happening for a reason." With that, he turned and departed.

"Leon, there you are! I've been looking all over for you!" I heard a voice calling. I took a deep breath, and prepared to explain to my brother what had happened.

The losses get kinda harder to deal with when you've bothered super training them xD

-----

Nurse Joy said she'd never seen anything quite like it, this Pokémon had died from just a regular Pokémon move. Comet was dead. I couldn't quite believe it, how could it die? Pokémon faint from battles, they don't die! A tear fell from my eyes as I tried storing Comet in the PC to no avail. I knew it was gone but I didn't want to believe it, I needed to warn Leon that it's possible for them to die,but the loser still isn't here.

I went to dad's fossil lab, and as I approached I saw Leon on a bench. "Leon, there you are! I've been looking all over for you!" I shouted at him. He turned round, a tear in his eye, "L-Leon, what's happened?" I asked, scared and confused, I wasn't entirely sure I wanted the answer. "It's dad, he's..." Leon began, but he couldn't utter the last word. I looked at him, hoping the last word was 'working', but somehow I doubted this. "He's dead." Leon finished. "No!" I yelled "Stop it! I don't know what kind of sick joke you're trying to pull, but he's alive and I'll prove it!" And with that I stormed away from him. Dad's words echoed, Leon, Sebastian, Ambrette town is big, you may not find the fossil lab. If you can't find it, come to Route 8, there's a very prominent overhang over the beach. Could it be he's waiting there? He knows how bad I am with directions, and Leon isn't much better. Yeah, that's where he must be!

I arrived at route 8 and there was no sign of my dad. Leon couldn't have been telling the truth, dad wouldn't die on us like that and I know it. I sat down on the edge of the cliff and tears began to fall from my eyes. I heard a familiar voice behind me "Sebastian? What's wrong? Are you okay?" Serena asked, she always seemed to turn up when I needed someone to talk to. "I think my dad might be dead" I began, the words proving even more difficult to say than I had ever imagined, "Leon says so, but I don't think he'd die on us like that but... But..." I broke down and began crying uncontrollably. "Oh my, you'll be okay Sebastian! Why don't we walk down the beach and maybe that'll help you feel a bit better?" She said, attempting to comfort me. I stood up, embarrassed for crying in front of her, "I guess you're right, I need to be at Cyllage Boutique anyway." I smiled, felt kind of inappropriate to do so, but I still did.

As we crossed the beach, I asked Serena if she knew anything about the death from her father, Kain, but unfortunately she said she's not close to him and they only really speak when they have to. I just need answers, I want to know if Leon is telling the truth. We arrived in Cyllage City, and I was feeling much more composed, so I went to the boutique and bought loads of clothes for the journey. Kalos fashion has always been some of my favourite, used to get it imported back when we were in Unova.

Serena suggested going to catch something on route 10, but I got into a battle with a trainer. Their Dunsparce is demon spawn. It coiled as Selina took a shot with psybeam, but I knew Selina couldn't beat it. I tried to switch out but Dunsparce chased Selina into it's Pokéball and it burst out, Selina on the floor dying. I couldn't cope with another loss. Not now. I waited for it to come back to life but no, it did not. Zazu got revenge for me,but I'd lost yet another friend. A Golett appeared out of the grass, which I caught and named Victor. It was cool, but I was still mourning the loss of Selina. Serena didn't know why I was making such a big deal out of it, so I explained that my Pokémon seem to die not faint. She suggested I attempt the gym to toughen them up, but first I went and caught a Binacle from smashing rocks!

The gym trainers were easy, but now I stood face to face with Grant - the leader - needing to win this without anymore loses. I can hope, can't I?

- Leon said dad died, I don't know what kind of sick joke he's trying to pull but it's not funny.

- Selina died on route 10 from a Dunsparce's pursuit D: I hate that ugly thing and its trainer. They deserve to suffer Selina's pain.
