So, less than a year after I grabbed my 3DS XL from CEX, Nintendo's gone ahead and announced
another 3ds model.Aside from generally looking a little nicer, it also features another control circle pad above the ABXY buttons. The face buttons have gotten a recolour to match the original SNES controller, and the 3D is meant to look nicer.
But the most important change is probably the increase in CPU performance (capacity? Power? IDK what to call it, it's a better CPU). That means that we can be seeing games that will only be able to be played on the newer 3DS. So far, the only game that utilizes the enhanced CPU is a port of the 2010 JRPG Wii hit, Xenoblade Chronicles (who's main character, Shulk, has been announced for the new SSB roster BTW!).
No announcement for an international release of the console just yet, but it comes out in Japan at least on October the 11th, this year.
Oh yeah, check this out: Chanegeable covers!
