10790. I have one lesson of history, tutor period and then nothing for the rest of the day, since the school year has only just started they've said we can go home when we have free periods instead of doing 'directed study'

10791. Nice, although "directed study" does not sound fun. We didn't have that in our school, we just got to go home.

10972. Chloe's not in school though... She's in 6th form...

In England, they have a 2-year sixth form after high-school (which is actually called secondary school there) and in that you have 5 lessons of 4 subjects (I think) which doesn't equate to full days, so Chloe obviously has few lessons on a monday

lugia95

10973. Ah, okay. Glad I got you to read up on the English education system, Dick.

quack98

10974. I bet you are

Stupid brother telling me I'm not a proper scot...

Wolstenholme

10975. Dick knows his taters.*

*Taters are potatoes.

lugia95

10976. Yeah, I kind of got that one...

Wolstenholme

10977. Well, just in case.

quack98

10978. I think that's more a British idiom than an English one...

lugia95

10979. Yeah, probably. Although I think it's less common in Scotland.

Wolstenholme

10980. It's also more common in Yorkshire/Nottinghamshire.

quack98

10981. Yeah, I don't use it much... But then again glasgowish area doesn't really use it much...

I'm going to make a cup of tea now...

Wolstenholme

10982. Glasgowish?

it's called Glaswegian

lugia95

10983. Over here, we call them "tatties".

Wolstenholme

10984. Tatties, Taters, Roasties... we have lots of names for them.
