Both my parents have buggered backs: my dad had his spine fused after he broke his back in rugby some years before he met mum, and mum had a disk in between her spine (the spongey bit) rip and press against her nerves sending pain up to her brain. she's now got more than four split disks and a buggered knee. my brother and I both have bad eyesight
