^ That made me laugh!:D I know what you mean though, his hair is disturbing me. Tennant looked so much better than that. Well, at least his hair was.

I don't know if this is a spoiler, but seeing as its already been pasted all over tv and the internet....

He's already said he's leaving after one series. How pathetic, are they just wasting Doctors?

This was announced by the BBC, so don't you dare accuse me of spreading spoilers.

Well I think it's good that he's not so well known. It means that he'll be known more as the Doctor when he gets older. Someone like David Tennant was so popular and well known, that he's well known for many other roles as well.

At the start I wasn't too sure on him, but if RTD has a good impression of him, then he's gotta be good... =D
Yes.

Thats a bit pointless. The again, Christopher Eccleson (or whatever his name is) quit after his first series.

Then again Christopher Eccleston was fantastic, funny and deserved more credit. I would watch it more if it was still him.

He'll be replacing his hairstyle with something you can look at without cringing, right?

I agree with you there Mike, just what is he thinking, he looks like a right pillock.

Jut search Matt Smith on wikipedia.

Remember, the BBC monitor their articles carefully so it should be pukka

Angelic Lapras King

Nope, nothing on his Wiki page about leaving after 1 season.

Maybe someone edited it so it looked like he leaves after one series.

I hope this means he isn't leaving soon. I swear it said he would leave because he didn't want to be typecast.

If he did want to leave to avoid being typecast, then why apply for the role?

Angelic Lapras King

Exactly, and the fact he haven't even filmed 1 scene makes me doubt this 1 Season claim.

How can you be typecast by playing The Doctor? It's a unique role. Nothing really is similar to it, therefore it's difficult to become typecast through it. Anyway, I won't believe it until I hear about it from an official source.

Anyway, I think he looks okay. Should be interesting, but I'll lose respect for him if he IS just another quitter - timelords supposedly have finite regenerations - The Master has had more than should be allowed, but only because he appealed to some timelord council or something - The Doctor obviously can't do that. I mean, they can probably write in more regenerations, but these actors are wasting the ones they already have. They shouldn't be forced to rewrite the rules just yet, simply because people get bored with the part. That's one reason I like Tennant, he's stuck with it.

Assuming this is true, then it would seem he doesn't want to known as 'The Doctor'. Seriouly, if he does leave I could kill RTD. Keep someone that isn't going to quit before the series has started for god's sake!

Angelic Lapras King

Not up to RTD anymore, its Steven Moffat come Season 5.

I actually quite like his ridiculous hair. He probably uses it to taunt bald people.
It'll probably get cut, anyway.

Anyhoo, Faf linked me to the DW confidential interview [UK only], if it hasn't been posted already. I didn't see it in this topic, at least o.o

I could, of course, be the only one to see the resemblance..

Interesting choice, he was good in Ruby In The Smoke so I look forward to see his version of the Doctor.
