or using your masterball on the main legend in dp because they are so easy to catch! there is a chance that if you throw a pokeball at them without hurting them you can catch them

^You *might* have to do that if:
1. you forgot to stock up on Poke balls, Great balls or Ultra Balls
2. You have, like, 1 PKMN, which has it's health in the 'red' zone
3. You forget to save and it's on red health with no PP left
4. You are stupid enough to do all 3 of these.

So, it's not that stupid.

In D/P/Pt, having Earthquake and Flame Wheel on your Infernape, then trying to learn Flare Blitz, and accidentally deleting Earthquake. That... would be REALLY annoying, since there's only 1 TM26 in the whole game.

Also did this with Kyogre. I accidentally knocked it out, and got quite upset.

It could also be excused if you found a shiny. Trust me, I know how frustrating it is to come up against a shiny legendary without a masterball.
