^It wasn't really a Lv. 1 challenge because he (or she) had their PKMN level up. The only 2 true Lv. 1 challenges were against Spiritomb and Lucario.

this was a lvl 1 challenge. challenge was to battle cynthia with lvl 1s and win.
never said anything about them lvling up.

The evil things:
Using Tepig. Seriously, Blaziken, Infernape, Charizard, Typhlosion, Magcargo, and Houndoom are way better, and Serperior and Samurott are both way better.
Creating 3 Fire/Fighting Starters in a row. Not only are the 1st 2 better than 3rd, but it's annoying and unoriginal.
Breeding 1000000000x times to get a Shiny with the right Ability, EVs, moves, etc.

Choosing Derporita, Derplup, Derpig or Derprom as team members. In Gen IV, at least Empoleon had Surf/Flash Cannon/Ice Beam/Signal Beam, but not anymore. Emboar is Em-boring (hah!) because the 1st 2 Fire/Fighting Starters are WAY better, and it is outmatched by Serperior and Samurott anyway. Derprom just sucks compared to Palkia, Mewtwo, Giratina, Ho-Oh, Rayquaza, Articuno, Reshiram.
