Topic: Monster Magikarp?

In Platinum there is a pond near the villa and a guy there says that there is a monster magikarp residing in there....Has anyone caught it?

Haven't played Platinum in a while but I'm sure he was talking about a Gyarados he saw or lying so you would waste your time.

He's talking about the high level Magikarp you can catch there with a super rod.

Of course, I realize he's talking about the high level magikarp, but I like to think that was the master of the lake he was mentioning XD

There are Magikarp in there over level 90.

It's the best pool of water in the entire Pokémon series, and the highest leveled wild Pokémon you can find.

The Magikarp in that water are (presumably) an equal chance to be any level from 1 to 100, so you have a 1% chance of getting a level 100; apparently that's the only place you can find a level 100 in-game without training one up. It'd kind of suck, though, that you could never evolve it.

Bulbapedia suggests it's the Resort Area. I don't know where that is because I've never played Platinum, but check there.

Yeah, TidesOfDel is right. You have to beat the Elite Four first, though. After that it should be pretty clear.
