That's not a screenshot of an episode/trailer, it's part of a poster that advertised the entirety of the Da! arc. It looks like most of the sections of the poster are just based upon the episodes rather than being an actual scene from them.

Besides, the Da! arc has already been messed up based on continuity... well, the ending has at least. So that scene could easily be an erroneous flashback.

Hmm, looks more like to me that Ash and friends find a Caterpie and just spend the whole episode getting it to evolve into Metapod then Butterfree, not the big reunion we hoped (Probably a flashback, but that's about it.).
