[Richard and Blaziken]

So I'm not sure if there's any interest here in this, but we're gonna try it anyway. This tournament is for 5th gen OU, and will be held on Pokemonshowdown.com (a battle simulator run by Smogon, for those uninitiated; no signup, just enter a name, make a team and battle). Here is a rundown of the rules, which aren't all standard rules, so be sure and read them:

-6v6 Singles (A team of up to six Pokemon may be entered, and the battles will be conducted in a 1v1 playstyle)
-Team Preview (this isn't something you can really control, but I'm stating it just to be safe)
-Species Clause (No more than one Pokemon that share the same species name can participate in a team. This means that even alternate forms, such as Rotom, cannot be on the same team as well)
-Sleep Clause (No more than one opposing Pokeon can be put to Sleep by one of your Pokemon at a time. If they use a move to put their own Pokemon to sleep, this does not activate Sleep Clause)
-Evasion Clause (no moves that raise Evasion, such as Double Team, may be used)
-Freeze Clause (No more than one Pokemon on a team can be frozen. This is enacted without control)
-Sand Stream, Drizzle, Drought, Snow Warning, Sandstorm, Rain Dance, Sunny Day and Hail are all banned moves in this tournament, hence the name 'Clear Skies'
-The following Pokemon are banned:

• Excadrill

• Giratina (both forms)
• Groudon
• Ho-Oh
• Kyogre
• Kyurem (White and Black forms only)
• Landorus (Genie form only)

• Shaymin (Sky form only)
• Thundurus (Genie form only)
• Tornadus (Therian form only)
• Zekrom

Yep, 6v6 Singles, should have made that clear. I'll edit the post.

In the post, I asked if people thought it'd be fair if I entered, and I'd see what the majority thought. My main goal here is to promote more competitive activity, and if I, by some chance, win my own tournament, it may put people off playing. However, if everyone's fine with it, I'd be more than happy to play. :>

Signed you up! I promise you, weatherless is so much better than the current metagame. It actually involves skill, rather than Specs Politoed doing 80% damage with Hydro Pump to things that resist it.

And if everyone agrees by the time we have 5 or 6, I'll slide myself in there :3

Alright, half the spots have been filled! I know Utack's okay with me joining the tournament, since we talk frequently through AIM, and I think Rob won't mind either, soooo... okay, I'm in :3

I actually haven't played competitive in months either and when I do it's usually Uber tier, so I'm sure I'll be a bit rusty, but hopefully I don't embarrass myself too much and lose right away! 8D;

Deadlines and the such for each round will likely be 72 hours after the tournament begins, to give people a chance to setup times that work and such.

EDIT:  Is it single elimination?  Either way I'm up for it, but best 2/3 and 3/5 for finals I think is a better way to determine who moves up to the next round....

I was thinking this a few hours ago, actually. I'm gonna say best 2/3. If the final two are okay with best 3/5 before any of the matches begin, it'll be that, but if not, best 2/3 works.
