I'm not sure if 'new world' should have too much weight attached to it.  It seems like typical Pokemon PR speak to me (new world, new friends, that stuff,) and possibly to differentiate it from the XY world to those who haven't played RS.

With projects like this, which rely heavy for nostalgia with older players, you generally try to keep things as close as possible while adding new game conveniences.  I don't think Hoenn is going to drastically altered, it may be altered as far to accommodate the games are in 3D now rather than 2D and further upgrades (Pokemon Centre + Mart in the same building) as well as additions but besides that? I strongly believe it will closely match RS as it was.  I'd think it to be in-line with GameFreaks approaches to FRLG and HGSS.


EDIT: Watcing the video, I'm convienced that the phase 'new world' was meant for new players, since the video doesn't really refer it as a remake or allude to that fact, olders players will know what it is so it doesn't need to be spelled out.

Gen 3's back, eh? 'Bout Time. I've been waiting 8 years for a remake; my favorite generation getting spotlight again is worth the wait.

Besides the obvious inference that Groudon and Kyogre might get a mega evolution, wynaut* the other two starters who have been treated unfairly and shadowed by the "greatness" of Blaziken?

Ahhh have not felt this excited in a while !! I can't wait for the first proper trailer with game play in it to be released. The only problem is november will not come fast enough.

I think megas are pretty assured, just look at the box art. That doesn't look like normal Kyogre and groudon to me.

Not necessey Mega evoulations (although they may end up having them) but Kyroge and Groundon always had the lines on their body glow (check out the RS starting screens) they just seemed to be styled differently.
