I've been watching Torchwood for the last few days now and something has been bothering me.
Jack gets Gwen and Ianto to take him to a wide open area where he can lure Abaddon into a trap. He then tells them to go as far away as they can, so that it wouldn't kill them. Abaddon kils Jack, but of course, he is immortal and can't die. This time, however, Jack doesn't appear to resurrect straight away like he usually does. After Ianto brings Jack back to Torchwood, they say that he has been dead for several days and everyone should just let him go. Gwen refuses, saying that she will stay with him for a while. Eventually, Jack resurrects and says thank you to Gwen.
So my question is, what the heck took him so long?

PS. Thanks Joeno for the spoiler tag, we can definitely make good use of it.
