If the doctor wasn't around, what would the daleks do in victory of the daleks?

A weird coincidence!

I find it weird that the Japanese word for white looks like a cake with a candle on top of it!

I don't understand some of the spelling rules when it comes to writing in English. Specifically the "I before E except after C or when it makes an A sound." That's all fine and dandy but what about the word "weird?" It doesn't follow the rule and there is no real reason why the I is after the E. And pluralizing words that end in O is a nightmare because some of them end in -es and others end in -s. And words that start with U are odd as well since you say "a unicorn" but also "an usher."

I before e is barely a rule, there are way too many exceptions. As for the u thing, if the sound is "you" then you use "a", if its "uh" then you use "an".

Really though the most important lesson in english grammar is that none of it makes sense and there are no rules.

Yet it's 'an' hotel rather than 'a' hotel.

I'm glad English is my first language because if I was learning it as a second language I'd be going insane.

Uhh, I dont know where youre from, but ive never heard anyone say "an hotel". Even in my head that sounds weird. Maybe thats the correct way of saying it but it sounds stupid so no.

The Shrub Dragon

why do we assume we're the smartest person in the room, except for when we are the only person in a room, which is one of the occasions where we probably are the smartest in the room

thanks gl <3

I was thinking this too - sounds very Yorkshire-y to be like "an 'otel" type thing haha, I've definitely heard it as a hotel everytime!

So in my fanfic, the Sky Pillar (A really old tower acting as a prison for Rayquaza) has one of these (modern) things on it. Things that make sense does not exist in my fanfic! I doubt that the Sky Pillar will even have window on it.

Young children (about 2 or 3 years old) have small lungs, and they can shout really loud.
When they get older, their lungs grow bigger and they can't shout as loud.

You'd think that with their lungs getting bigger, they'd be able to shout louder.
It doesn't make sense and is weird at the same time!

You can back to front, but can you be front to back? No one ever says that!

Also, there's "at the top of your voice" and "at the bottom of your voice" no one ever says "at the middle of your voice"

Tbf, people do say front to back, but usually more in reference to like filling a car on a roller coaster or something?

Never heard bottom of your voice before tho lmao

Oh. Well, why is there only "top of you voice" then? XD

And there's overwhelmed and underwhelmed, but is there just whelmed?

The lyrics to For The First Time in Forever in French. They literally make no sense.

It's weird that I didn't know my a Uncle Bill's wife's name until I was fifteen. I never heard anyone use her name and it's even stranger that she married my uncle about ten years before I was born so it was not like he married her last month.
