__Strange__

Name: Alphonse Rockbell

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Physical Description: Alphonse stands 5'11'', and is quite slim. His skin is of an "average" pigmentation, but his body seems to prefer burning to tanning. His eyes are a steel gray, his mouth seemingly stuck in a constant scowl. He carries a journal everywhere, filled with important notes.

Personality: A sarcastic, critical fellow who loves to voice his opinions. Alphonse quite enjoys company, although his deadpan, sometimes dark sense of humor tends to drive people off - especially since he never shuts up with it. When you push those annoying characteristics aside, however, you're left with quite an intelligent young man (both booksmart and streetsmart) whose loyalty, once earned, is virtually impossible to break.

History: Born in Ekruteak City on October 9th, 1986 to Luna and Davis Rockbell, Alphonse's childhood was quite average and, to be quite frank, mundane. From ages 8 to 15 he attended the Johto Pokemon Academy, dropping out one year before graduation. He spent a year traveling with his only two Pokemon, seeing sights, meeting people, and broadening his horizon. Still, he knew he couldn't live from Inn to Inn, so he took up a job writing for a travel magazine, which made decent money. To help the cash flow, he'd taken up a job as a sort of Trainer-for-Hire: when the rich, lazy, or inexperienced wanted a certain Pokemon from the area Alphonse was heading next for his articles, he'd catch it for them, at a fee. He still has both jobs, and still travels the world, looking for rare Pokemon, and the next big scoop...

Friends: Respects Captain Aldar Skylar, but is not his friend.
Enemies: Leon Masuka, a rival writer from the same magazine (NPC, probably won't be brought up much), Kyle Steinmar (more of a friendly rivalry)

Pokemon:

Beedrill/No Nickname/Male
Bug/Poison
(Fury Attack, Rage, Focus Energy, Pursuit, Twineedle, Poison Jab, Assurance, Pin Missle, Agility, Harden, Poison Sting, Stringshot)
Received as a gift from his father at age 4, when it was still a Weedle. Beedrill has always stood by his trainer, going to any lengths to protect him. He isn't exactly the most powerful battler, but has proven useful when the chips were down. Beedrill has also been known to have a short temper. It has a good friendship with Farfetch'd, and enjoys double battling with him.

Farfetch'd/No Nickname/Male
Normal/Flying
(Sand Attack, Leer, Fury Attack, Fury Cutter, Knock Off, Aerial Ace, Slash, Air Cutter, Swords Dance, Agility, Night Slash, Featherdance, Air Slash)
Received as a gift from his mother at age 4. Farfetch'd was always a very serious, very wise Pokemon, acting as a mentor to any new Pokemon Alphonse received. It is the prime battler of the team, often the first to be called out. Farfetch'd has a good friendship with Beedrill, and likes to double battle with him.

Starmie/No Nickname/Genderless
Water/Psychic
(Water Gun, Rapid Spin, Recover, Swift, Confuse Ray, Camouflage, Waterfall, Power Gem, Trick Room, Tackle, Bubblebeam)
A prize won as an egg at a Pokemon tournament for the magazine staff (it was the second prize. First prize, a Growlithe egg, went to Leon Masuka). Starmie is used for water transport, as well as battle. It seems to have a more jokey, laid-back attitude than the other Pokemon, and cannot stand the stuffiness of Farfetch'd.

Aerodactyl/No Nickname/Male
Rock/Flying
(Ice Fang, Fire Fang, Thunder Fang, Wing Attack, Crunch, Supersonic, Roar, Scary Face, Bit, Ancientpower, Iron Head, Take Down)
An intimidating Pokemon, revived from a fossil Alphonse found during a shoot in Mt. Moon. It seems to at least tolerate his trainer, though shows more respect to it's fellow Pokemon. He loves to battle, which Alphonse sure doesn't mind, considering it is a powerhouse. Once he's on the battlefield, though, he doesn't play well with others.

Hitmontop/No Nickname/Male
Fighting
(Revenge, Feint, Rapid Spin, Rolling Kick, Triple Kick, Counter, Vacuum Wave, Mach Punch, Bullet Punch, Hi Jump Kick)
Alphonse traded a Huntail for this Pokemon while doing a story on the Fighting Dojo in Kanto. It distances itself from the other Pokemon, but seems to have a liking for Alphonse. He can hold his own in battle, but his low self-esteem causes him to second guess himself, which never ends well.

Sandslash/No Nickname/Male
Ground
(Scratch, Defense Curl, Sand Attack, Poison Sting, Swift, Fury Swipes, Rollout, Crush Claw, Fury Cutter, Sand Tomb, Rock Slide, Metal Claw, Safeguard)
Rounding out the team is this fiesty Ground type, captured in the deserts of Hoenn during an interview with a man who made his home there. It doesn't care for it's trainer or it's fellow team members, but stays with them simply because he, like Alphonse, loves to travel. He also has the most rigorous training schedule, by choice, which often leaves him tired.

Key Items:
ID Badge - This contains the basic information, and also shows he is a writer for RTW (Region Travelers Weekly)
Camera - Used to take pictures to accompany articles.
Journal - Used to take notes and write articles, as well as keep track of captures needed for his second job.
Tape Recorder - Used for interviews.

Previously owned Pokemon:

Huntail - Traded for a Hitmontop to a trainer named Dane prior to his PLC debut. When the one Clampearl he found evolved into Huntail instead of the Gorebyss he needed for his Trainer-for-Hire job, he became fed up, and traded the fish. Not much else is known.
