My family has lots of doctors, and I even went to medical school for a while before switching to animation, so it goes without saying that when people dismiss medicine and doctors - despite having ZERO medical experience for all their barking *COUGHantivaxxersCOUGH* - it makes me mad.

There are concerns about the medical field such as over medicating, doctors over prescribing, and etc., which I understand, but the people who refuse tried and true medicine because "oh it has mercury in it!" or "oh I can't pronounce this chemical- it's not natural!" are just plain stupid. And hurting other people, which I cannot stand in the least.

I've got about 5 different eye problems: badly short sighted (in both eyes), astigmatism in my left eye, lazy eye and squint in my right, and I only found out year that I've got nystagmus. Surprisingly my left eye has 6/6 vision but my right is something awful like 6/60 (basically I can only read the top line of the eye chart w just my right eye).
It's always fun when people try on my glasses and are like ???? lmao

SirBlaziken

People who pronounce library wrong just once make me mad enough to want to smack them.

Quotemy right is something awful like 6/60

My fiancee has 6/60 in both eyes. She has aniridia (no irises) and a nystagmus. So I know how crap that must be.

I always say my eyesight is so bad that my optician has explained to me (#)/(#) eyesight measurements aren't accurate haha. So I don't know what my number is. I've been told i'm pretty close to legally blind though and when I take off my glasses I pretty much can't distinguish things unless they're directly in front of my face. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and can see well and I'm like, "Holy snot! My eyesight is cured!" for a moment and then I realize I just left my contacts in :(

I've never heard of aniridia before! What sort of effect does it have? I didn't know I even had nystagmus until last year, the doctor thinks I've had it since I was little. I've heard getting it later on in life makes it a lot worse.

Yeah I think I've got -10 in my left and -12 in my right, only learned last year about how well they can see distance. The rest of your post is me to a t lmao, I've done the contact lenses thing a few times! It's so disheartening when you realise :( everyone laughs when I tell them that story haha

Kerou 犠牲

Contact lenses make me throw up. Glasses or massively messed up vision for me unfortunately!

I'm going to order one of those alien things. They came in an egg, with goo, did nothing, but were the hottest cheese on the market back in like year 6.

I'm a sucker for nostalgia.

QuoteI've never heard of aniridia before! What sort of effect does it have?

Eyesight is extremely limited. Because she has no irises she can't regulate how much light enters her eyes in the same way we can. The result is she has two MASSIVE pupils and the amount of light coming in will slowly cook her retinas over time.

She sticks two fingers up to her condition and is a school teacher even though she can easily claim incapacity. So I use her as an example a lot when I'm telling the kids I speak to at my old school (careers talk thing) to not be lazy and work for stuff.

She can't drive, struggles to see details but she can see okay, all things considered.
