Pikachu

If you don't know who this little fella is, then you don't deserve to be here. (Well, maybe not that drastic, but y'know.) This is Pikachu, the 'face' of Pokémon. That little yellow mouse, yes. And it's in a fighting game. Sounds fun, doesn't it? In here I'm going to list Pikachu's moves, his strengths and also possible weaknesses he has in his Brawl play.

Firstly, I'm going to list the super special moves that Pikachu has to offer with the lovely "B" button on a GameCube controller and Wii Remote/Nunchuk combo. Or for those new hip players, the "2" button on the Wii Remote.

Special Moves
Standard BThunder Jolt
Up BQuick Attack
Side BSkull Bash
Down BThunder
Final SmashVolt Tackle

Note: To perform a Final Smash, you must first have the Smash Ball (you will be glowing if you've smashed it; you have to attack it until you have done). You then press your equivalent "B" button to unleash it.

Pikachu is rather fast. It has pretty fast attacks overall (though it is outclassed be the likes of Meta-Knight and Marth) and this can be used to your advantage. Play mindgames with your opponent, running and jumping around the stage while hitting them from time to time. Slowly build the damage and then go for the KO.

With the speed, this also means that Pikachu is also rather light (not as light or floaty as Kirby or Jigglypuff, but still light). This means that Pikachu will be sent flying often if hit with a strong attack. So bear that in mind.

Pikachu's Special Attacks aren't really that great, barring Thunder. The odd Thunder Jolt can work to stun your opponent for that brief moment so you can follow it up with an attack. Quick Attack and Skull Bash should be generally your recovery moves (shown later on). Thunder can be useful if used in conjunction with an Up Smash to knock your opponent high into the air (and hopefully off the stage as a star KO).

General Tips:

Use Smash Attacks - Since Brawl is a fighting game where the aim is to knock your opponent off the screen, you should focus on racking up damage quickly then unleashing a Smash Attack on your opponent. Smash Attacks, have a lot of knockback, sending your opponent quite far. There are three different Smash Attacks at Pikachu's roster: Side Smash, Up Smash and Down Smash. Pikachu's Side Smash (smash left/right and A on a GameCube controller) is a thundershock from his cheeks. The opponent must hit the sparks for it to do any damage. This will send the opponent sideways.
Make use of recovery! - If you are sent off the stage, try to get back! Pikachu's Up B is Quick Attack. This allows Pikachu to dash in two directions; once in one direction, then a second in another with a specific angle between the two. You cannot, say, use both dashes to the same direction to go in a straight line, you must alter your trajectory in a sort-of zig-zag. Or if you are under the stage, you could try to go left/right diagonally to the edge, then the opposite left/right you already went, still going up. You should get back on the stage. Pikachu's Skull Bash is also a decent horizontal recovery move; though Quick Attack does allow you to go horizontal too (and if you can control it, it's a lot better).
Don't spam neutral "A" - Though it's a very fast move, you'll get nowhere in a match if you spam it. You need to be diverse, using some tilts and smashes. Mashing "A" will get you nowhere.
