Battle and trade virtual trading cards like it's 2000...

Since it's launch, both the 3DS and Wii U Virtual Consoles have yet to see any classic Pokemon goodness, but come this Thursday, that will all change (10/07/14 in Europe anyway, no word on NA or Japan releases) as Nintendo will bring Pokemon Trading Card Game for the Game Boy Color on it's 3DS eShop!
Released back in 2000 when Pokemon was just about everywhere, from TV Screens and Gameboys (Think an iPad but smaller and apps came on carts) to even the cinema screens, the game was an adaptation to the physical Trading Card Game back when it was serious business (Seriously, kids would break into toy stores just for the cards) with a little RPG mode that saw your character travel an island to defeat 8 Club Masters before moving onto defeating the 4 Grand Masters (Sounds familiar...). There are also a total of 226 Cards to collect, offering many hours of gameplay winning and opening booster after booster after booster just for that one card you're after, just like real life!
Will this release lead to more Pokemon games to the Virtual Console, like the classic Red and Blue or even Pinball? Might Nintendo go out of their way to translate the previously Japan Only sequel should sales of this meet the demand? Will Wizards of the Coast make a comeback to distribute everyone who buys this rerelease a Meowth Promo Card just like they did with the original back in the day?
Probably not...
