US Darkrai event announced! :: News

Full of magical wifiness! Event now active in US AND Europe!

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

Nintendo have officially announced that the Member Card will be distributed over Wi-Fi for the lucky residents of US land!

This means you'll be able to catch the legendary Darkrai the way it was always meant to be caught! That is via a few migraines and nightmares.

You'll be able to receive your Member Card between August 3rd and September 13th. Make sure you've unlocked Mystery Gift though - click here for details on how to do that.

After that simply head to a PokéMart to collect your prize...

... And take it to the previous locked Canalave City Inn!

Eventually you'll make your way to Newmoon Island and have the chance to catch your very own Level 50 Darkrai!

Unfortunately, for some reason which we'll never quite understand, this event is for Pokémon Platinum only. The event also exists in Diamond and Pearl, so god knows why Nintendo have chosen to do this. Snowyday2 actually broke the news of this event on the forums quite a few days ago, and being the intelligent know it all admin that I am, I dismissed it having heard nothing about it from Nintendo. Oops.

Word has it that an European event will shortly be revealed as well! I must go and lie down with all this excitement.

Why is it only for pokemon platinum? because nintendo wants us to spend our money on the same game with a few more improvements for a super special legendary limited edition pokemon. not buying platinum just for this.
