Lapras	Sirena Sirens are mystical, beautiful yet dangerous sea creatures with enchanting music and voices. And Lapras deffinetly fits the mystical, beautiful yet dangerous category of Pokémon. Also Most people when looking at Lapras Pokedex entries just see it as the Ferry Pokémon but its pokedex entries also mention it's enchanting voice which makes Siren related name even more fitting. Another similarity with Lapras and Sirens is it's moves as it learns Sing and Perish Song by levelling up... Sing puts the foe to sleep by singing at it and Perish Song casts doom on the foe by singing both of which are the effects of a Sirens singing. It learns even more moves related to sound as well such as Hyper Voice, Snore, Echoed Voice, Round, Roar, Growl, Sleep Talk, Signal Beam and Heal Bell. Lapras	Pandora For all the negativity Pandora is attributed with, she only opened the famous box out of simple curiosity; her name means "all-gifted" and she was truly a divine woman, created by the gods themselves. Likewise, Lapras possesses a certain beauty and grace (and I can imagine it being naively curious as well) that distinguishes it from its fellow Pokemon, so I think it deserves such a nickname. ...Not to mention that I could have named it Nessie or Turtle.
