Greninja	Mizūmi Japanese for "lake." Greninja is based on a frog and a ninja. Ninjas originate from Asian culture, including Japan. Frogs are often found in or near lakes. Greninja	Crest The Crest is the curling part of a wave. Greninja being a Water Type Pokémon suits that theme. Tides are determined by the moon which has a crest in a way. A crescent moon looks somewhat like a wave with a crest. The moon part ties into the Dark Typing of Greninja. (Random Bonus) One other thing that my friend realized was that Crest is also a Toothpaste. Greninja's have a scarf that resembles a tongue. Brushing your tongue with Toothpaste (in addition to your teeth) removes odor-causing bacteria. So that sort of ties into the tongue-like scarf Greninja has. Greninja	HrmtDaFrog The name was supposed to be HermitDaFrog, which spans 12 characters, thus compatible with Pokémon X and Y nickname limitations, but the website restricted me to 10 for whatever reason, so I had to shorten it. This could work with any frog-like Pokémon. It's a bit of a stretch, but the name fits (or I think it does) because 1) Hermits live in seclusion, much like ninjas (correct me if I'm wrong), and 2) It's a play on the name Kermit the Frog.
