A Sub-Puncher, Aqua need Leftovers to slowly heal it's Substitute damage. She does really well behind screens, so she usuallly comes in after Bronzong. Ice Punch is for type coverage
Get a few Sword Dances up, and Titan will destroy. I usually have to switch when a Flying type such as Staraptor appears, because he can not take many attacks.
My Physical Latios, which is definetley something you don't see everyday. He doesn't do real damage until after a Dragon Dance or two, but it isn't extremely hard to set up with him, especially if he comes after Bronzong.
Nature: Timid Special Attack EV: 252 Speed EV: 252 HP EV: 6
I have to predict when I play Minun. If I know for a fact that the opponent will use a ground attack, I use Counter. TBolt and Grass Knot are for decent damage, and Quick Attack for Sashes.
Lol. This is all you could do? Strategy in Pokemon isn't about how powerful a move is.
And EVs are very important in competitive battling.
Thanks for your "input" but learn about what you're talking about before you embarrass yourself. Again.
I agree with the 'Too many Life Orbs' comment. For starters, you may consider a Flame Orb on Heracross. It'll limit the number of turns used for Swords Dancing, since it'll activate Guts ability. Actually interested in how your Minun actually plays out; I'm sort of intrigued by that set. For your Latios, an Expert Belt may be a little better way to go there. Also, congrats! You're the first person in a while to actually a) know what EVs are and b) how to manipulate them into your favor. :) Team needs a little tweaking, but overall- not bad.
Ok fair point, your bronzong is very good as levitate means it takes no damage from earth type moves and its light screen reduces power from fire attacks and light clay keeps the light screen going for longer. However have you thought about replacing reflect with trick room so you will still be slow but you can attack first.
I dont see why your azumarill would need focus punch? Please explain this.
Your heracross is very good and i will agree with RedFox with the item swap but otherwise he is very powerful. Your Latios is also very powerful but is earthquake really necssary. You could replace it with recover to keep Him going. I dont like minuns but thats just me. I agrre with your view on Prugly as it is standard. Also it was my brother who kept commenting and sending you mesagges. Sorry
I feel it's not necessary for Trick Room, considering Minun, Purugly, and Latios's speed stat. Azumarill is a subpuncher, she substitutes and then can reek havoc with a powerful Focus Punch. I am currently working on obtaining a Flame Orb. Latios uses Earthquake is just for type coverage. Thats fine, if it really was your brother.
Ok... for some real comments...
Bronzong- looks good, and works great as a lead.
Azumarill- The set looks good, but I've no experience actually using it in battle, so I don't know how well it fares in standard battles. Still, if you're using it to success, more power to you.
Heracross- It's lacklustre Speed will often hinder it, so to make up for this, I reccomend this set:
Heracross@ Choice Scarf
{Guts}
Adamant nature (+Attack, -Sp. Attack)
EVs: 252 Speed/ 252 Attack/ 6 HP
Megahorn
Close Combat
Stone Edge
Night Slash
Scarf Heracross makes an excellent revenge-killer. Megahorn and Close Combat make up the base of the set, getting STAB and decent type coverage. Stone Edge hits Flying types hard. Night Slash hits Ghost types like Dusknoir, Gengar and Rotom, which are all common threats that are immune to CC and resist Megahorn.
Latios- Is Uber. Use something else if you're playing in OU. Also, special Latios is much better. Latias is OU now (without Soul Dew), so Latias@ Leftovers or Choice Specs could replace this.
Minun- Is in the Neverused tier for a reason- it can't take a hit, nor does it have any real power. However, utilizing this set, you could potentially devistate the opponent:
Minun@ Focus Sash
{Minus}
Timid nature (+Speed, -Attack)
EVs: 252 Speed/ 252 Sp. Attack/ 6 HP
Nasty Plot
Baton Pass
Thunderbolt
Hidden Power Ice/ Thunder Wave/ Grass Knot/ Sing
I'd use this as a lead, since SRock, Spikes, Toxic Spikes ruin this. Even so, if the opponent leads with Tyranitar, Hippowdon or Abomasnow, your chances at Baton Passing have ended. Anyway, assuming they don't lead with one of those three, set up a Nasty Plot, and Baton Pass it to Latias to allow it to sweep. Another awesome thing about it is many people will try to Earthquake Minun, and when you Baton Pass the NP to Latias, it won't take damage from Earthquake. Watch out for weather, hugely popular priority moves, PHazers, Ambipom (Fake Out lead ruins this completely), Choice Scarf Pokemon... lots of things. I'd really reccomend against Minun to be honest, but if you use it, you know what to watch out for.
Purugly- I'd go U-Turn over Shadow Claw, since if a Ghost shows up, there's a reason they'll be there- probably a Rotom form, there to screw you over by Tricking a Scarf on you or something, and the ability to switch while doing damage is nice.
Overall, good team, but the inclusion of a bulky Latias (while not going with the blue theme) would REALLY aid this team. Also, I'd ditch Minun too if it were me. Too frail and unable to do much of anything.
Thanks for your comments. I'll see what I can do blue-wise. I had always used Minun as quick killer, unfortunatley Ghosts and other Priority moves mess him up. Maybe I will get another Pokemon. Suggestions?
If you're not dead-set on the blue thing (gimmicks are nice, but often lower your ability to battle more effectively), Electivire could go over Minun. Switch it in when you know a Thunderbolt will be aimed at Azumarill, and you just got a free switch-in and +1 Speed. I use this set:
Electivire@ Expert Belt
{Motor Drive}
Adamant nature (+Attack, -Sp. Attack)
EVs: 252 Attack/ 252 Speed/ 6 HP
ThunderPunch
Ice Punch
Cross Chop
Earthquake
ThunderPunch gets STAB. Ice Punch hits Dragons, as well as providing physical bolt-beam like coverage. Cross Chop is mainly there for Blissey, who it generally OHKOs (depending on how it's EV'd). Earthquake smashes Heatran, and also allows Electivire to do something else that's pretty nifty.
If Electivire switches in on another Electivire's ThunderPunch or Thunderbolt, you can boost your own Speed and OHKO it back with Earthquake. Happens to me quite a lot.
Actually, that's the old standard. The new standard has something like Thunderbolt, Cross Chop, Hidden Power Ice and Flamethrower or something. I get the thing about wanting to be creative, but you can't just give Marowak Sing and say "lolcreative", because Marowak has better things to do.
I just noticed your team is hugely unbalanced in the number of Physical and Special Pokemon. Going along with the blue theme thing I guess, I use this as a lead to my main team, and it works fantastically as a surprise:
Salamence@ Choice Specs
{Intimidate}
Modest nature (+Sp. Attack, -Attack)
EVs: 252 Speed/ 252 Sp. Attack/ 6 HP
Draco Meteor
Dragon Pulse
Flamethrower
Hydro Pump
This was once the most popular set for Salamence, but dropped off in popularity because it can't touch Blissey. That's why I use it as a lead- by the time anyone's figured out it's a SpecsMence, they usually just lost their lead.
Intimidate hinders physical leads. Draco Meteor smashes the hell out of anything not Steel type or Blissey. Dragon Pulse is to sweep late-game. Flamethrower hits the common Steel types. Hydro Pump hits Heatran, giving perfect coverage with this set.
Alright, I do kinda like it. And I have a Salamence in one of my boxes. I'll have to check his nature though. AND Salamence is a shade of Blue. Sort of. Okay cool. I'll see what I can do.
...Yes, you should use Timid or Modest Heracross. Lowering your Attack is always cool.
Do not use Flame Orb Heracross, Life Orb does around the same damage, and makes it a lot less easy to just outstall with switching, and doesn't leave it open to Protect.
