Team Sandcastle

Created by Luigi Layton

This is a sandstorm team, so it works around the weather sandstorm. All the pokemon on it have rock or ground as a type. This is mostly for in-game or competitions that are held by the global link.
Freezesand the Tyranitar
Holding Chople Berry
Ability: Sand Stream
Moves: Nature: Sassy
Attack EV: 252
Special Attack EV: 64
Special Defense EV: 192

Tyranitar has Sand Stream, which activates the sandstorm. mostly a sweeper

Sapphire the Gastrodon
Holding Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
Moves: Nature: Sassy
Special Attack EV: 6
Special Defense EV: 252
HP EV: 252

Sapphire is the wall in this team.

Steelix
Holding Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
Moves: Nature: Impish
Attack EV: 6
Defense EV: 252
HP EV: 252

A wall/lead. A replacement for Skarmory until I get a new one. Does pretty much the same thing as Skarmory, roars out super-effectives, sets up with stealth rock, taunts to stop stat increasers, and gyro ball to hit hard with it's very low speed.

Dalek the Scizor
Holding Life Orb
Ability: Technician
Moves: Nature: Jolly
Attack EV: 252
Special Defense EV: 6
Speed EV: 252

A fast sweeper. Swords Dance, then attacks

Terrakion
Holding Air Balloon
Ability: Justified
Moves: Nature: Adamant
Attack EV: 252
Speed EV: 252
HP EV: 6

Another sweeper, but with Rock Polish for speeding up.

StormForce the Landorus
Holding Leftovers
Ability: Sand Force
Moves: Nature: Jolly
Attack EV: 252
Defense EV: 6
Speed EV: 252

The fourth sweeper, but with a Substitute for when setting up Swords Dance.

Both Garchomp and Excadrill are Uber, so you'll have a rough go of this team in Ubers.

But just to feed your curiousity, Sand Throw is what made Excadrill Uber. Sand Throw doubles Excadrill's Speed in Sand. Sand Throw makes Excadrill faster than /Deoxys Speed/ in Sand. Yeah. Faster than Choice Scarf Jolteon. Yep.

Anyways, ignoring the two Ubers, this looks pretty standard. No rating, because this was posted Excadrill was Uber, and (long) after Garchomp became Uber, so they need to be replaced for thism to be used in OU. Unless this is for Uber, in which, you've got a lot of changes to make. P:

Now that changes have been made...

TTar just isn't a sweeper anymore. Due to how screwed the metagame has been because of weather, TTar is there to setup weather and SRock. SRock, Ice Beam, Fire Blast, Pursuit/Crunch with Sassy nature is the standard. TTar has to live to keep Sandstorm going in the face of Politoed's torrential onslaught.

Gastrodon looks fine.

Wait... did you even look at this? You've got Skarmory using Air Slash, a move off it's horrible Sp. Attack, and you're using a -Sp. Attack nature... what is this even... you want Brave Bird. The recoil is mitigated with Roost and the fact that Skarmory doesn't hit very hard anyway, but you definitely want Brave Bird for finishing off weakened things.

I prefer CB Scizor in this metagame. Rotom-W runs enough Speed to outpace Scizor, and nearly always runs HP Fire, and quad resists Bullet Punch. And Rotom-W is on pretty much every team. CB Scizor is always useful, and keeps momentum going with U-Turn.

Terrakion is standard. I like Scarf Terrakion myself, but if you find time for Rock Polish that's pretty much superior, save for the added coverage Scarf offers.

Landorus looks good.

Now for problems:

This team is HEAVYILY physical. I'd suggest... DUN DUN DUN... Rotom-W over Gastrodon. Yes, Gastrodon absorbs Water... but aside from that, it is completely useless... it mostly just serves to mildly annoy your opponent with Politoed, and make him predict you better. Rotom-W, on the other hand, gets rid of a lot more threats and would serve to balance your team better.

Rotom-w@ Choice Specs
{Levitate}
Modest nature
EVs: 128 HP/ 232 Sp. Attack/ 148 Speed
Hydro Pump
Volt Switch
Hidden Power [Fire]/ Will-o-Wisp
Trick

This is what I use, and it is so good. Speed EVs outrun Scizor and roast his ass. Either that or Burn him. The advantage of Will-o-Wisp is crippling other physical sweepers. HP Fire also wrecks Ferrothorn, which is a very common switch-in, due to resisting both STABs. Finally, TrickSpecs is just great. Honestly, this is probably the best TrickSpecser, due to his great defensive typing. Rotom-W is also very, very light, so Grass Knot does pathetic damage, even STAB'd. Rotom-W is just amazing.

With these changes, I think you'll have a bit more success in the current metagame.

I'm thinking about replacing this Skarmory with a new one one. I found that it has a horrible def. IV and I see there is no good naturally learned flying type moves. I thought Air Slash was a physical move, never checked. I'm training an Empoleon and a Lucario, with special movesets, but I put those with another squad with extras for this team

You'll want Brave Bird on Skarm, or Drill Peck if you dislike small recoil, though Drill Peck is an Egg Move from Fearow, iirc.

I despise sandstorm teams. I really do...

i would make landorus mixed and give it hp ice to stop gliscor, and gliscor or ferro would be better than steelix

There is a heavy water weakness on this team, although it is obvious, a torterra would help, good though.
