Character Guides / (#5) Andrew Francis
« on: April 07, 2009, 22:27 »
Name: Andrew Francis
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Description: Andrew’s brown hair is beyond his ability to keep it neat, thus he has given up. He is of moderate height and build, a direct result of his energetic nature. He wears a custom made white shirt with designs of his own choosing. To further separate himself from the norm, Andrew wears black jeans instead of blue ones, and his sneakers are able to become roller blades. Curiously, he has seven red spots on the back of his right hand that form a hexagon with one of the spots in the middle. This was not there before, and so he wears a glove on that hand to hide the marks.
Personality: Andrew is an up-beat energetic person who loves to play and fool around. He has a strategic mind capable of some grandiose plans, though more often than not, he’ll dive straight in without thinking. Despite his outward appearance, he is conflicted inside. On the one hand he wants to go home, but on the other he wants to stay with his pokemon. He doesn’t show it, but it’s splitting his heart apart.
History: Andrew has always enjoyed the Pokemon franchise, buying every game and vhs tape and dvd that came out. Unlike most of the kids at his school who had dropped the fad as they got older, he held on. His loyalty was rewarded when the announcement of the Generation Four games came out.
However, his excitement was short lived as one day while he was playing ‘Pokemon Emerald’, he tripped over a log in the park and tumbled down a hill, losing his Gameboy Advance in the process. He lost consciousness at the bottom and when he awoke, it was to find a Linoone sniffing his face. After his initial shock and horror, he realized that he had somehow entered the world of pokemon.
That was a year and a half ago, and he has no idea how to get home.
Friends: None…yet
Enemies: None…yet
Pokemon:

Party
  • Magmortar
    {Flame Body}
    [Serious]
    Andrew’s first pokemon was a Magby with an unusual habit of picking fights with things many times its size. Its evolution was what convinced the guy that pokemon were living creatures deserving of love and respect. The two are inseparable and work together to get out of sticky situations. Magmortar is the kind of pokemon that devotes itself to getting stronger.
    Barrier, Flare Blitz, Smog, Leer, Ember, Smokescreen, Faint Attack, Fire Spin, Confuse Ray, Fire Punch, Lava Plume, Flamethrower, Protect, Earthquake, Hyper Beam, Focus Blast, Rock Slide, Strength, Thunder Punch
  • Scizor
    {Technician}
    [Serious]
    Andrew’s second pokemon was caught as he tried to leave the Safari Zone in which he had awakened. Pure luck though it was, Scizor nevertheless accepted it’s defeat and has aided the boy ever since. The pokemon seems to have a friendly rivalry with Magmortar.
    Quick Attack, Leer, Focus Energy, Pursuit, False Swipe, Agility, Metal Claw, Fury Cutter, Slash, Razor Wind, Iron Defense, X-Scissor, Night Slash, Brick Break, Double Team, Roost, Silver Wind, Cut
  • Magneton
    {Magnet Pull}
    [Quiet]
    This pokemon was caught simply for its type combination and it’s ability. It was only after Magby evolved into Magmar that Andrew realised that pokemon are living, feeling creatures, not bits of code.
    Tri Attack, Metal Sound, Tackle, Thundershock, Supersonic, Sonicboom, Thunder Wave, Spark, Lock-On, Magnet Bomb, Screech, Discharge, Thunderbolt, Shock Wave, Flash
  • Weavile
    {Pressure}
    [Adamant]
    As a Sneasel, this pokemon had stolen Andrew’s bag in an attempt to heal its family. With no such luck, Andrew agreed to find some medicine for the family. Afterwards, Sneasel insisted on following the trainer. Andrew was very surprised to see this pokemon evolve. Weavile, despite being a Dark-type, is a caring pokemon that will go out of it’s way to help others.
    Scratch, Leer, Crush Claw, Ice Punch, Taunt, Quick Attack, Screech, Faint Attack, Fury Swipes, Agility, Icy Wind, Slash, Night Slash, Fling, Metal Claw, Secret Power, Thief, Focus Blast, Shadow Claw, Rock Smash
  • Skarmory
    {Keen Eye}
    [Iimpish]
    Andrew couldn’t believe his luck when he spotted this oddly colored pokemon. He ended up reverting to gamer mode to catch it at all costs. He has since made up with Skarmory, and the two make an excellent team.
    Leer, Peck, Drill Peck, Sky Attack, Brave Bird, Sand Attack, Swift, Agility, Fury Attack, Air Cutter, Spikes, Metal Sound, Steel Wing, Protect, Aerial Ace, Roost, Endure, Pluck, Fly, Defog
  • Prinplup
    {Torrent}
    [Naughty]
    Andrew’s latest pokemon completes his type set, though he has long since thought of them as such. Prinplup was one of the few pokemon from Sinnoh that he knew about before falling into this world, though he knew it as ‘Pottaishi’. This pokemon seems to think of itself as a princess with Andrew and his other pokemon as her servants.
    Tackle, Growl, Bubble, Water Sport, Peck, Metal Claw, Bide, Bubblebeam, Fury Attack, Brine, Water Pulse, Ice Beam, Surf

Character Guides / (#4) Alex Ashford a.k.a. Axeford
« on: April 06, 2009, 19:26 »
Name: Alex Ashford a.k.a. Axeford
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Description: Alex looks like your run-of-the-mill trainer standing 5'7" in his White Tee, Red Vest, and Black Jeans. He has swept forward Blonde hair and sparkling Green eyes. The aspiring Pokemon Master wears Black Wristbands and Red Sneakers.
Personality: Alex Ashford is a happy person who dreams of being one of the Elite Four champions. Energetic and optimistic to the max, Alex loves adventuring and learning new things. He loves his family dearly, and since he's always away from home, he treats his pokemon as family. He prefers the "go-for-it" approach to most situations, only occasionally taking time to think beforehand.
History: Alex grew up on the outskirts of Violet City in Johto with his Mom and Dad. When he turned 15, his parents finally let him travel to New Bark Town to get his first pokemon and begin his journey. About a month after he left his home, the young trainer came across the ancient Ruins of Alph and witnessed two suspicious characters sneaking around at night. They were startled to see someone there at that time and after the 3 of them fell into a secret room. The two characters were very interested in the room, and didn't seem at all surprised when the writing on the walls started floating around, chanting. They remembered that Alex was there and decided to make him forget about the room. Luckily, they were unable to defeat Alex's Totodile/Bellsprout combination. He would not see the two again until he was passing through Ilex Forest, where they tried to break into a shrine amidst the trees. Although he beat them again, all he learned about them was what their organization was called and their superior's initial's; W.T.
Friends: Alice Marie Ashford (younger sister)
Enemies: Prophets of Origin
Pokemon:

Party
  • Croconaw (Male) [LEVEL 29/Torrent] Rash {Pokeball}
    Scratch, Leer, Dragon Claw, Water Gun, Rage, Bite Scary Face, Ice Fang, Thrash, Dig, Surf
    Croconaw was Alex's first pokemon, and he seems to share many of his trainer's aspects. He's curious and helpful, and he jumps head first into most situations. The water pokemon evolved during the battle at the Ilex Forest shrine.
  • Dodrio (Male) [LEVEL 31/Run Away] Jolly {Pokeball}
    Pluck, Peck Growl, Quick Attack, Rage, Fury Attack, Pursuit, Uproar, Acupressure
    Alex's third pokemon stole Bella's pokeball thinking it was a berry. The Doduo was unable to eat the device, not for lack of trying, and was caught unawares by an exhausted Alex. Despite the faces that Dodrio makes, it's overall mood is that of an inquisitive detective.
  • Victreebel - Bella (Female) [LEVEL 40/Chlorophyll] Hardy {Pokeball}
    Vine Whip, Growth, Wrap, Sleep Powder, Poison Powder, Stun Spore, Acid, Knock Off, Sweet Scent, Gastro Acid, Razor Leaf
    Alex received Bella the Bellsprout in a trade in Violet about a week before he came across the Ruins of Alph. She likes to prove herself the best, often pushing his other pokemon out of the way. The plant pokemon grew remarkably quickly, in more ways than one. By the time of the battle at Ilex Forest Shrine, the Weepinbell was a good 4.5 feet tall. As a Victreebel, it now stands 6'10", making her taller than any person he's met.
  • Torkoal (Male) [LEVEL 28/White Smoke] Lax {Pokeball}
    Ember, Smog, Withdraw, Curse, Fire Spin, SmokeScreen, Rapid Spin, Flamethrower
    Alex found this sleepy pokemon just South of Goldenrod. Not knowing what it was, the boy quickly caught it to learn more. Since then, Torkoal has been a welcome member of the team, although he is excessivly lazy. Alex almost lost to Whitney when the fire pokemon took a nap in the middle of the battle.
  • Pichu - Piichan (Female) [LEVEL 14/Static] Hasty {Pokeball}
    ThunderShock, Charm, Charge, Volt Tackle, Tail Whip, Thunder Wave, Sweet Kiss
    A couple near Goldenrod that spent their free-time running a Pokemon Daycare Center had their charges stolen. The passing Alex was happy to help. He rescued them easily enough, but the thieves managed to make off with an egg. After a 3-day hunt, Alex returned to the couple with the egg in tow. Beaming at him for his dedication, the couple gave the egg to Alex to "keep it safe." The baby Piichan likes to ride his shoulders and is remarkably fast in battle.

Previously Owned
  • Onix (Male) [LEVEL 10/Sturdy] Impish {Pokeball}

    Onix never liked his trainer, so when someone offered to trade for it, Alex couldn't agree quick enough. Neither has seen the other since.

Pokedex - Red device Pokemon Trainer's recieve along with their first pokemon and pokeballs. Displays information on known pokemon.

He wears a white T-shirt with ripped off sleeves, gray jeans, and a crisscross belt. He's got a hint of muscle to his body, indicating that he had kept himself fit before his memory loss.
History: Van has no memory of the past until about a month ago. In that time, he's recalled his first name, his age, how to battle, as well as the mysterious title "Pride". While he still doesn't know their natures, personalities, how they met, or even all of their attacks, he is beginning to form a new bond with his Pokemon.
Personality: Having no memory, over the past month, Van has built a new personality, but is unsure of wether it's correct or not. He likes helping people, and seems to have an inherent kindness, but his doubts keep him kind of distant. He has really good insights on the world and people around him, and is fairly knowledgable, though he doesn't know why/how he knows some of the answers he's given. Character Guides / Character #2: Kyle Steinmar
« on: January 10, 2008, 03:42 »
Name: Kyle Steinmar
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Description: Standing 5'10" and weighing in at 180 lbs, Kyle looks like your average teenager. He has brown eyes behind rounded rectangular glasses and light brown hair that messes quickly, even if it's just been brushed. Without his glasses, the world goes fuzzy and he can't read anything more than 7" from his face. He wears a fleecy red front-zipper vest over a light gray T-shirt as well as blue jeans and white sneakers. Around his neck is a teal colored stone, a graduation present from his parents.
Personality: If this were D&D, you could say that Kyle has high intelligence but low wisdom. He knows a lot of things, but how or when to use that knowledge fails him. He isn't very strong either. He is however, confident and loyal. To him, his pokemon are the only friends he's ever had, and so he relies heavily on them to make up for his various shortcommings. He hates to lose and will come up with brilliant strategies and tactics to help him win. Overall, he's a kind and friendly guy who likes to help people.
History: Kyle comes from Cianwood, in the west of Johto. His first memory is almost drowning in the waters near thw Whirl Islands during a family boating trip. A Magikarp saved his life by keeping his head above the water and bringing him back to his family's boat. Ever since, the two have been insperable, the boy even catching it so he could take it with him to the Pokemon Academy when he was 8. Although everyone laughed at him and made fun of him for 'such a pathetic pokemon,' he perservered, stunning everyone with a Magikarp that knew Hidden Power. Upon graduation at age 10, said pokemon evolved. The two had many adventures as he worked his way up the ranks to the very gates of the Pokemon League. Sadly, it was not meant to be, and after a very close match against the Champion, Kyle came up short. Resolving to do better next time, the young trainer set out for his country's neighbour to the East: Kanto. There he hopes to get stronger and once again return to the league, this time a Champion. He occasionally gets presents from his parents.
Friends: Minato Kizue (childhood friend currently attending the Johto Pokemon Academy[16yo]) Alder Syklar (more like a mentor, someone with experience to help him)
Enemies: Alphonse Rockbell (more of a rival than an enemy, but he'd never admit it)
Pokemon:

On Hand

Gyarados-Alice(Female)[Pokeball]
[Intimidate]
Tackle, Hidden Power, Bite, Dragon Rage, Leer, Twister, Ice Fang, Aqua Tail, Rain Dance, Hydro Pump, Dragon Dance, Hyper Beam, Thunderbolt, Dragon Pulse, Surf, Whirlpool, Waterfall, Dive
Alice the Magikarp was Kyle's first pokemon, having saved his life when he was 3. The two became inseperable. During their time at the Pokemon Academy, the two were ridiculed until they showed their stuff during a test where they were required to battle a classmate. It was during this battle that Alice displayed the ability to use the attack Hidden Power. Upon graduation from the Academy, she evolved. She is Kyle's second strongest pokemon and is ready for any challenge. Alice will protect her trainer at all costs.
Typhlosion-Blaze(Male)[Pokeball]
[Blaze]
Tackle, Leer, Smokescreen, Ember, Quick Attack, Flame Wheel, Defense Curl, Swift, Lava Plume, Flamethrower, Sunny Day, Shadow Claw, Overheat
Kyle's second pokemon was the leader of a pack of Quilava terrorizing a small farm near Olivine City. He's a proud pokemon that doesn't like to lose. Respects Kyle as he's the only one to beat the fire pokemon (aside from Johto's champion). Blaze will set his trainer on fire if he ever tries to give in or struggles in battle for whatever reason (wants Kyle to give his all, no matter the circumstances).
Kirlia-Marco(Male)[Cherish Ball]
[Synchronize]
Growl, Confusion, Double Team, Teleport, Lucky Chant, Magical Leaf, Calm Mind, Psychic, Imprison, Future Sight, Shadow Ball
In Goldenrod City, Kyle passed by the radio tower and found they were holding a contest with a pokemon as a prize. He wasn't interested and no one was able to solve the puzzle. The manager spotted him and coerced him into trying it himself. Reluctantly, he gave it a shot and solved it in record time. He was then given the choice of 1 of 3 red colored pokeballs. Inside the one he chose was the pokemon Ralts from the far away Hoenn region. Marco is kind and helpful, usually bowing when he meets someone. Has always had a fascination with Kyle's pendant...
Onix-Deidara(Male)[Heavy Ball]
[Sturdy]
Mud Sport, Tackle, Harden, Bind, Screech, Rock Throw, Rage, Rock Tomb, Sandstorm, Slam, Rock Polish, DragonBreath, Iron Tail, Protect, Earthquake, Dig, Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Rock Climb
The only pokemon that can actually be considered caught without a reason. Whereas all his others had events that led up to their capture, Kyle saw an Onix in a cave and decided to catch it. As for a personality, it seems like a loner who is secretly glad to have friends.
Charizard-Flarefang(Male)[Pokeball]
[Blaze]
Scratch, Growl, Ember, Metal Claw, Dragon Rage, Scary Face, Fire Fang, Slash, Wing Attack, Flamethrower, Fire Spin, Heat Wave, Flare Blitz, Fly, Dragon Claw, Fire Blast, Blaze Blast, Air Slash
Although Kyle's strongest pokemon, Flarefang is wild and unruly, rarely listening to him. It does what it wants regardless of the consequences. Like all Charizard, it has a streak of pride and refuses to fight weak opponents. It seemed as if he was finally listening to his trainer during the battles at the Pokemon League, but it turns out that was only because it knew the opponents were strong. He has since returned to ignoring Kyle. The boy hasn't mentioned to anyone how he came across this powerhouse.
Lairon-(Male)[Pokeball]
[Rock Head]
Tackle, Harden, Mud Slap, Headbutt, Metal Claw, Iron Defense, Roar, Take Down, Iron Head, Protect, Metal Sound

In Storage

Dragonair-Winry(Female)[Luxury Ball]
[Shed Skin]
Wrap, Leer, Thunder Wave, Twister, Dragon, Rage, Slam, Agility, Aqua Tail, Dragon Rush, Ice Beam, Flamethrower, Shock Wave, Dragon Dance
Winry sees herself as Alice's rival for Kyle's attention. She works hard to be stronger and better than the Gyarados. This probably stems from when they met. During the dragon pokemon's travels, she stopped to rest near a lake. However, the native Gyarados didn't take kindly to this and began rampaging, damaging a nearby city as well. The townsfolk were clueless to the cause, but one boy decided to go find the problem: Kyle. He found the injured Dragonair and showed it he wanted to help. Much to it's surprise, the boy used his own Gyarados to stop those that rampaged. As he tried to leave, she curled around him and cuddled him, so he used his recent gift from his parents to capture his new friend.

Key Items:
-Mini Telescope
Allows him to see up to 343 feet away. Water and Fog proof. Helps him when he gets lost to find signs of civilization.
-Spare Glasses
Knowing that you're practically blind without your glasses, of course you're going to get spares just in case...

UPDATE: Has formed an opinion of Alphonse and Alder
Posted on: December 02, 2007, 22:49
UPDATE: Sorta...Decided to include an except from an RP I kinda fell out of but had connections to Kyle.

Minato sat at the end of one of the tables, eating quietly. He didn't know anyone, so he kept to himself. All around him, people talked and laughed, all the while stuffing their faces. The cries of pokemon echoed as well. He just hoped things wouldn't erupt in chaos...
"Hey, did you hear? They say that the 'youngest trainer to graduate from Johto's Pokemon Academy'...He-"
"Challenged the pokemon League, I know..."
Th conversation pricked the blonde trainer's ear. They could only be talking about...
"Kyle Steinmar, that was his name, right?"
"Yeah. They say he entered the Academy when he was 8 and graduated two years later!"
"You're kidding, two years?!"
"Yeah. Apparently he only had one pokemon through the whole time as well, a Magikarp!"
"No way!"
"Yes way! Even more amazing, he beat the Elite Four!"
"Shut up!"
"I'm serious! Bruno, Will, Koga, and Karen! He beat them all! He then went up against the champion, Lance from Blackthorn!"
"How'd he do?"
Minato listened closely. He'd never actually gotten word of Kyle's whereabouts since he'd left Cianwood after getting Old Man Chuck's gym badge.
"They both went down to their last pokemon, but Lance came out on top." His heart sunk and he stopped listening. His best friend had beaten the Elite Four and came so close to becomming the champion. So much from the guy who'd almost drowned as a kid.
"And what am I to that...?" He muttered under his breath.

So I'm gonna include Minato Kizue as a friend NPC who attends the Johto Pokemon Academy

Character Guides / Kyle Miyazaki
« on: April 28, 2007, 23:13 »
Name: Kyle Miyazaki
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Description:
Personality: Kyle loves his family, friends, and pokemon, and would do anything for them. He's smart, and kind, although his sense of justice is kind of harsh. Although usually calm, he does get angry, which usually leads to his dark side's emergence. This amplifies his anger. Kyle is a cunning strategist and tactician, but when his other side takes over, it's all about power.
History: Kyle began his adventure over nine years ago, and has journeyed all over the world, from Kanto to Hoenn, even to Orre. Shortly after obtaining his third badge (age 11), he was called back home to Blackthorne due to an emergency: His family's home burned down. Only his little brother, Kieran, survived. Once things had calmed down, Kyle left Kieran in Claire's care and began wandering again, wondering what he'd do with his life. He became depressed, lashing out with little agitation. While in Cinnabar, he came accross a burned down mansion, that thieves were taking advantadge of. Recalling his past, Kyle ruthlessly beat them all. However, afterwards, his rage cooled, and he turned them into the police. He had found his calling. While he continued his adventure, he'd work as a Bounty Hunter of Justice. After his induction into the Indigo Hall of Fame (13), he returned home and worked through the Johto League. After that, he went through the Orange Islands, before returning to Blackthorne (16). His brother was now 9, and waiting for when he'd be able to join Kyle on his journey. Happy with his brother's care free attitude, He gave Kieran two pokemon to care for: Houndour and Poochyena. He then set out for Orre, hearing about Team Snagem. However, a month after he arrived, the problem was solved. He remained to help with the clean up, as well as to explore. Afterwards, hemoved on to Hoenn. However, a year ago, he recieved word that Kieran had been kidnapped. Kyle returned home and followed the trail back to Hoenn. Kyle is determined to find his brother, no matter the cost. And so once again, his dark side is emerging. He now has 3 badges, but no leads. He recently traded his Sharpedo to a trainer from Sinnoh for her Gabite.
