Masquerain isn't meant to take hits, special or not. I'd personally go for a bit higher HP, but it's quite useable as far as Masquerain go..

Pretty decent, but considering it's your first egg, and Crobat loves a bit of bulk, I'd keep breeding.

Yeah, I'm planning to, and have been. That's actually been the only Jolly with a 31 passed down in like... 6 eggs or more

True, but at least with the first one Stun Spore will help it more with that deduction in Speed. And it's got a little bit more bulk to get it off, not that it'll survive long enough anyway haha. I'm keeping both so that's alright anyway.

I'm thinking.. either Dugtrio, Rotom or Tyranitar now. I've not managed to get my hands on a decent Machamp yet.

Or you could be awesome, and keep it as a Surskit! They're much cuter, and not another lame Bug/Flying. ^_^

Jolly Diglett - 31 / 31 / 13 / 18 / 18 / 31

Should I breed on using my 31/31/x/x/x/31 and 31/31/31/x/31/31 parents or will the extra Defence and Special Defence not be worth it?

Diglett - #50 (Jolly): 31 / 31 / 23 / 31 / 23 / 31

This will do!

Edit made by Gethsemane at 3pm on 11/05/2010

Larvitar - #246 (Jolly): 31 / 31 / 18 / 13 / 22 / 31 - Dragon Dance version.

Going to breed a Pursuit version at a later point to be a Scarf version. The above isn't brilliant defensively, but for what I want it to do, it's more than fine. =]

Gible - #443 (Bashful): 31 / 31 / 19 / 17 / 29 / 31

Got my Male parent now to go with my Jolly 31/31/31/31/31/31 Ditto, so I've now got 1/5 chance of getting a 31/31/x/x/x/31 baby. Gonna go for ~30 Jolly babies and compare the Defences.

It still wants a 31 in Sp. Attack if you're using it for OU battles. Fire Blasting those Skarmory is important.

Assuming that Garchomp is even remotely allowed in OU again..

Fire Blast should never be on Garchomp. True, it has the same SAtk as Flygon and that uses it effectively, but Swords Dance means that Fire Fang, if you're going to carry that, is a far more effective measure if you feel up to attacking Skarmory on your own. I believe, (I had written a good argument yesterday with lots of calculations but the site/myinternet went down as I pressed post and I lost it) these are roughly by the way, that;

+2 Fire Fang on a Max Def IV/EV Impish Skarmory deals ~41-48%
Fire Blast on a Max SDef IV/EV Impish Skarmory deals ~38-45% - SAtk IV of 31
Fire Blast on a Max SDef IV/EV Impish Skarmory deals ~32-38% - SAtk IV of 0

Considering I'm using the Swords Dance version, and it's for the Battle Tower as I want to complete Pearl and get all my Stars before I emigrate to Soul Silver (When I've got the money) and use that as my storage game for all my EV'd Pokémon, I'm going to ignore the SAtk because it'll be a redunant statistic. SwordsDance/StoneEdge/Earthquake/Dragon Claw is what I'm probably going to go for, perhaps Fire Fang over Stone Edge to give me a bit more coverage and more Accuracy and PP for those awful Double Teamers in the tower.

I forgot specially defensive variants of Skarm are used now. But I doubt they are in the Battle Tower. Find out what Impish 252 HP/ 0 Sp. Def Skarm takes, and that's the number you probably need. I know when Chomp was OU that it 2HKOd Skarm and Bronzong with Fire Blast for a fact.

I forgot specially defensive varients of Skarm are used now. But I doubt they are in the Battle Tower. Find out what Impish 252 HP/ 0 Sp. Def Skarm takes, and that's the number you probably need. I know when Chomp was OU that it 2HKOd Skarm and Bronzong with Fire Blast for a fact.

Using Metalkid's Damage Calculator;

Fire Blast - With a Life Orb attached, and Skarm having no SDef EVs; Damage Per Hit: 296 - 350 / 88.6% - 104.8% (Number of Hits: 1)
Fire Fang - With a Life Orb attached, +2 and Skarm having max Def EVs; Damage Per Hit: 210 - 248 / 62.9% - 74.3% (Number of Hits: 1)

So the accuracy still isn't worth it I'm afraid, nor the loss in PP. Sure, there is that chance to OHKO, but it's down to one Pokémon. I'm pretty sure there aren't many Skarmory and Bronzongs on the same team in the Battle Tower, and even then, Life Orb isn't going to drain Garchomp completely as I can't see him needing three attacks to KO with +2 Attack.
