The Mansion [J][LP][Pz]

Yuu yawned and leaned against the solid wood wall of his old tree house. "So, what do you guys say? Should we go to the mansion or not?" He asked, fiddling with the handle of his shovel. "Because really, I only want to go to prove that the stories are huge lies." Yuu's younger sister, Akane, suddenly scrambled up the rope ladder.
"Big bro, take me with you! I wanna go to the haunted mansion too!" She cried, flopping down on the wooden floor. Yuu shook his head and ruffled her hair.
"No can do, kiddo. Too dangerous." He muttered.

Reegan stood a little away from the group, as usual, with his eyes focused on Yuu. His gaze was intense, unblinking and a little off-putting. As he stared, he thought deeply about the rumours that had circulated around the Old Mansion for years. Could they be true? It was almost impossible to know without exploring it himself. Reegan had never been one for superstitions, but he did like to plunge into all things dark and wonderful. A bunch of kids exploring a mysterious mansion, what could go wrong?

It occurred to him, that as one of the oldest, he'd be obligated to look after the younger ones. Could he really be expected to socialise? What's more, he'd have to care?! Reegan just hoped for the sake of the young'uns that it wasn't haunted. Having this much responsibility was not a good thing for Reegan, nor for anyone in his care for that matter.

Eventually he broke off his gaze and looked a little above Yuu whilst he said, "I see no other option." He then raised his eyebrow and half-smirked, "although curiosity killed the cat..." Or perhaps the over-inquisitive child.

He then closed his eyes and out his hands behind his head, thinking about how the youngsters would probably rush into it head first.

"Food?"

"Check."

"Light?"

"Check."

"Journal?  Pencils?  First aid?"

"Check, check, an' check!"

Mia finished rummaging around in her bag and zipped it tight.  She looked up at Callum, her newest friend in a while, and gave him a big grin.  "I also brought walkie talkies!  Y'know, in case we need ta split up!"

Callum smiled.  "Good thinking, kid.  Wouldn't want you getting lost, would we?"  Mia stuck her tongue out and crossed her arms in a huff.  "Right, no-one saw you leave, right?"

"Nope!  Can we start walkin' there now?"  Mia rocked back and forth on her heels, looking around them.  The two were only a small distance into the forest where they agreed to meet.  It wasn't so hard to look for Callum with the light at this time of day; the way it shone off from his shoulder's metal pipe caught her eye quickly.

Callum chuckled and began to walk into the darker part of the forest.  "All right, all right, let's go."

"Hey, Cal?"  Mia began, skipping after him.  "How come you didn't bring anything with ya?"

"The stores are very picky about who buys their stuff.  They won't let you buy anything if you have something stuck through you."

Mia frowned.  Well, that didn't sound fair.

"Sorry I'm late." said Alex "I had a tough time getting back here because the fact this place is on the other side of the woods from where I live"

"Either way, I'm can start at any time." he finished

A few of the group started at Alex, one was pointing at his weapons

"Oh, these?" he asked, "Let's just say I have a lot of free time. Alright, who wants to go in first?"
