((Dana, I'd love that a lot))

Ryu looks over and Reiru transforms. He gasps. Keira is just standing there, frozen. "Keira, let's go." says the lucario. The vulpix doesn't move. "Keira?" says Ryu. Keira didn't answer. He was getting worried for the young fox. Usually she answered him, but Keira seemed frozen.

//Dragonfear*. That's it. But why not with Reiru?//

Ryu looked up and saw the other dragon. Keira was right to be afraid. The flying dragon was huge! Ryu felt a touch on Dragonfear himself, but knew the situation was not safe. He saw the helioptile take off with the garchomp and the ninetales. Reiru was still there, to fight this other dragon, and Knuckle was, well Ryu didn't stay long enough to find out. While Keira was frozen with fear, Ryu grabbed her and bolted with extremespeed. He followed the others until he caught up with them at a trainer labeled Trainer PR. Ryu heard the noises, and Keira shrieked quietly. Ryu set the young fox down near the group. "I'll go in, if anyone hears screaming from me, set the place on fire and get out of the area. If i'm not back in half an hour, burn the building and move on. I'll come out if everything is taken care of in there." he says, pulling out his pistols and loading them.

((* Dragonfear is a common fear of dragons which can range in strength from mild hesitation to fainting at the sight of a dragon. Most people and pokemon feel it at some point.

Sorry, had to reference this, it was a good opportunity.))

((Just as an FYI before this post starts, I got permission from Shiny Mega Gengar.))

Del turned around to face Slash. He had just finished his meal, and he was ready to get going. "Jeez, you'd think these guys would just let a guy eat before they go bursting off in some random direction," he said with a little annoyance.

Slash nodded in agreement. "Yeah, they booked it before I had a chance to eat, too," he said, as Del walked in the direction of the group. "We should hustle, before their scent goes dry," Slash said, trotting up besides Del, encouraging him to float a little bit faster. The two of them ran together in the general direction of the distant town.

Slash jumped in shock as a cold raindrop hit his nose. "Del, we need to hurry," he said, as the single rain drop turned into a drizzle. Slash didn't like the idea of his fire attacks being almost useless due to the bad weather. As they went from a normal run to a sprint towards the city, the rain became a downpour. Slash was tiring from taking his paws out of the mud that the walkways had become, forcing Del to slow his fluid movement so Slash wouldn't get left behind. At least it's amplyfying the scent, Slash thought, relieved that tracking had become easier.

They reached the safehouse, and Slash grunted, knowing that there was still a long way to go. "I still can't believed those pidgey-brains ran off without their leader..." He panted, walking past the safehouse. Del looked over at him, sensing that Slash was tiring.

"Slash, if you need, we can rest in the safehouse until we reach the group."

"No, Del, we can't afford to lose them..." Slash said, still refusing to stop moving, and taking in a deep nasal breath. Suddenly, Slash was perked to attention, and stopped moving. Del stopped in his tracks as well. The crashing rain was masking noise and making sight nearly impossible, but scent didn't escape Slash's nose. He muttered, "Doomsday pokemon are here," moving his head about frantically. Slash whipped around, sighting a gigantic rotting corpse stumbling towards him. "Del," he muttered, as the gengar turned around.

Slash was looking right up at an eight foot tall green beast. A mega tyranitar. Slash's eyes locked on it with an expression of pure fear that he just couldn't hide. Del acted immediately, and without hesitation, casting Toxic on the huge beast. Thoughts were racing through Slash's head. He planned his next attack with a Nasty Plot, hoping to hit hard once he had decided exaclty where to hit the monster. The mega tyranitar stomped at the ground, causing the earth to shake. The safehouse began to crumble, and both Del and Slash were devestated as debris from the area beat them down. Slash opened his mouth and released a Dark Pulse. Despite the massive amount of power that it had, the typing hardly even made the Tyranitar flinch. Del used another Giga Drain, but instead transferred the energy to Slash, who looked like he was about to die.

The tyranitar took one more gigantic stomp, this one more powerful than the last. Buildings shook, and several crashed to the ground. Slash was hardly hurt by the debris, and Del seemed to be in decent condition. The tyrantitar was weakening. Slash fired a dark pulse at it, and it could hardly stand anymore. Del looked at it,  "The poison is finishing that guy off, we should get going," Del suggested. The tyrantar raised its fist to send off another earthquake, making Del immediately charge up his next giga drain to stop it.

It was too late, however. Slash could feel the moment as if it happened in slow motion. The fist hit the ground as the pokemon fell, and the entire city's foundation shook. Slash looked over at Del. "Del! Run!" he shouted, running towards the group. Del had just finished giga draining the last of the Tyranitar's life when his red gaze looked upwards at the crumbling safehouse.

Slash could hear the stone and wood of the building crumbling. He whipped around, sliding on the mud in the pouring rain. He raised himself up from his position, but before he could even take his first step towards Del, the safehouse crumbled off to the side. He could see the pieces falling on their leader, and Slash ran faster than he had run before. But before Slash had finished his second step, the entire building had fallen on top of Del.

Slash gasped, and ran to the rubble, digging through it as fast as possible. "Del!" he yelled, digging through the timber and rock. "Del!" he yelled louder, praying that there would be a response. He removed one rock, and could see Del's form underneath it. Slash's eyes widened in terror as he realized that Del wasn't helping him fight to remove rocks from him. "Del!" He yelled, digging him out faster. No, no, no, no, were the only thoughts that Slash could run through his head, as he pulled Del's body from the rubble. Slash's heart skipped a beat when he felt a heavy breath come out of Del. "Del, hang in there!"

Del opened his glazed eyes, and it was obvious he was nearly dead. Del made eye contact with Slash. "Slash, you need to find the cure," he sputtered. "Make sure, for me, everybody makes it." The rain poured down of Slash's weak body, and if dogs could cry...

~

Slash dragged himself through the mud, trying to move towards the group as fast as possible. The rain had stopped a few miles ago, and was replaces with a burning sun, that helped revitalize Slash. The mud was caked onto his pelt now, however. The scent was drying up...

Then, Slash saw Jaime and Sunny run out of a building. There! he thought, eyes lighting up at seeing a familiar face. Slash galloped towards the two, in total ecstasy to have found some of the group. He ran up beside them. "Guys! God, I am so glad I found you..." he said, panting and running alongside the other two pokemon. His heart felt twisted, as Del's death was ingrained in his mind, but he was just too excited to be reunited with the group.

Danatales

((YEE IM GONNA DRAW SO MUCH FANART also omg im laughing like the terrible person i am this was a plot twist i didn't see coming))

Jaime whipped his head as he heard a voice, and spied Slash, "Oh! Hey!" He grinned slightly as he caught up with Sunny, slowing and waving, "Dang, I didn't think we'd see any of you other safehouse guys in like ages!" He spied all the mud and damage Slash had clearly maintained, and blinked, "...Are you okay, though?"
Dana huffed, catching up with Jaime and Sunny, and Slash now too, "You see? You see?!? Told you they'd all...hhh, catch up!" She huff puffed as she stood by her fellow survivors, before looking up at the dilapidated Trainer PR building, "...Well doesnt that look cozy."
When Ryu and Keira arrived shortly after, Jaime looked over. The Lucario was speaking about going in and investigating the building. Jaime shifted nervously, "You sure you don't want any one to back you up? There could be some nasty creatures in there." He could heard the guttural groans from inside, and really didn't want anyone to have to put a face to them.

SirBlaziken

While Keira was scared out of her wits, thank you dragonfear, Ryu went inside.

//Well, there must be something in here.//

Suddenly, a hiss rang out! Ryu looked behind him, and a chespin, purrloin, and jumpluff were behind him. "Well there's the problem." says the jackal, "You doomsday pokemon think you'll kill us all. But that's not gonna happen."

Bang Bang! Growwwwwwwwlllllllllll..... Snikt! Smash!

All sounds of a struggle, but Ryu won. He scoured the area but found nothing else. Ryu jumps out of the building. "It should be ok now." he says, "But some of the strongest should keep watch."

Suddenly, a caterpie walks out and Ryu aura spheres it, death. "Correction, now it's safe." says Ryu.

Slash on the inside was pretty upset. He could feel the rage inside of him as he realized that if the rest of the group didn't run off, Del would still be alive. Whatever. Slash had other things he needed to say, once he could figure out how to articulate it. Slash was now walking beside them, and shook his coat off, some of the mud and blood coming off of his body. "I'm doing... alright..." Slash said. "All of my cuts are healed. But yep, I'm back." He said, walking up to the building with the group. "What's going on?" He asked, watching Ryu take out the pistols. "Let's not fight. Let's just get a move on, find that cure, and make everything normal again..."

Ryu still went into the building, and Slash could hear gunshots from outside. He grunted, and watched as Ryu left the building. When Ryu assured it was safe, Slash let out a little disapproving groan. "Fine, but I'm lighting a freaking fire. Mind using those nice hands of yours to grab some wood for me?"

SirBlaziken

"Firewood huh?" Ryu says. He walks over to some kind of stand and takes out the katana. Instant wood. A few trips later, the wood is where it should be. The effort, combined with the battle and fleeing from the dragon had him panting. "There's the wood." says Ryu.

The dragon from before flies overhead. Keira shrieks in terror. "Dragonfear, why must it have been a dragon?" the jackal mumbles to himself. Ryu recoils a bit himself. "If you need us, we'll be inside." Knowing Keira wasn't gonna move anytime soon, Ryu scooped up Keira and walked inside.

Slash set up the logs, and blew a tiny fire on them to light the area, and provide some warmth. "I need to rest, the journey here was terrible," Slash said, lying down and putting his head on his paws, and shutting his eyes. He knew that he would be having nightmares tonight...

SirBlaziken

Keira soon falls asleep and Ryu places her near the fire. Not tired, he enters a position where he's ready to stand guard.

"You all can rest, I'll stand guard." says Ryu, pulling out the katana. This gave him some time to think. An aron comes out and Ryu close combats it into oblivion. He eats the aron and feeling reinvigorated, take guard once again.

Wolstenholme

Sunny sleeps but is inexplicably restless. She wakes up somewhere before dawn. Ryu is still sat near the door. As everyone else sleeps, Sunny watches Ryu. She's positive that he's oblivious to her, that he doesn't know she's watching... but she is. She whispers across the room "I'm sure you need to sleep too. I'll watch. I'll wake you up immediately if anything happens... I promise" Then she scuttles across and sits down next to the door so that she is next to Ryu. She hasn't spoken to him before because he was always looking after Keira. Now was another great opportunity to make friends.

SirBlaziken

Ryu is slightly surprised by Sunny's offer. Although he did know that the young electric type was awake, thanks to aura. "It's fine, I can handle it." he says, keeping one eye on everyone and another on, well it doesn't take a genius to know.

//Everything's happening so fast. On top of everything, the dragon is likely still there.//

The room shakes.

//Yep, still there. Dragonfear likely has a bit of a hold on us. Some more than others.//

Hitmonchu

My eyelids are growing increasingly heavy, and I find it harder to keep my head up. I lie down and pull the blue Honedge cloth over myself.
The same forest dream again. It must mean something.

ALL HAIL GOOMY

SirBlaziken

((Hitmonchu, you're still on the streets near the dragon....))

Ryu looks around, no one's there. He breaths a sigh of relief.

Meanwhile in Keira's dream, a flashback is taking place. The battle. All of it. The horde. The attack. Both parents going down. All of the horrifying elements.

The sounds of horrible battle. These strange pokemon, they took her parents. One fell. Fleeing. The other one falls. The doomsday pokemon had taken Keira's parents, her innocence, everything she once knew, gone. What has Keira to show? New pokemon, mostly ones that haven't bothered to even speak to her, Ryu as a guardian, and a mission. A mission to save the world.

Keira wakes up and in the little light in the building sits in the center of the building, sitting guard, earning her keep. One way, since no one was injured, that road was not good to travel now. So, now Keira was ready to prove herself.

Danatales

After creating a makeshift shelter in the PR building, Dana and Jaime quickly settled in. The Ninetales leapt atop her dragony friend's back, curing up and poking her head out, "Get some rest, you losers. Tomorrow we need to get things done, yeah?" Jaime grunted an agreement, before hunkering down and falling asleep, a big blue snoozing lump. The pair of friends' sleep was actually quite  smooth going for once, probably over the knowledge Ryu was doing his best to keep guard. He certainly seemed to know what he was doing.

It was fairly early on that Dana cracked her crimson eyes open again, spying the fire still smoldering in the center of the room. She yawned, slid off Jaime's back, and slinked towards the flames, curling up closer to them and absorbing the warmth. She was feeling rested and restless at the same time. Bored, she huffed curls of flame into the air, watching them crackle out.

Kpyna

"Dad!"

/Oh, god, no. Not this dream again. I know I'm dreaming. Wake up, wake up.../

His father had been bitten and was laying on the ground, losing blood. A whole horde of Doomsday arcanine had stormed their pack, ripping through Slash's family and slaughtering them. Slash was 17 at the time, when the horde hit his pack. Nobody knew what had prompted the Arcanine to attack so viciously: Although pack members had been found brutally killed, and the Arcanine were strong suspects for the murders, nobody in Slash's pack was expecting a disaster like this to occur. They were totally swarmed by superpowered beasts that could kill in only a few bites.

Slash's father stared at him from his position, and Slash was frozen staring at him back, as the shrieks and growls echoed behind him. The dream seemed to go totally silent for a moment, and Slash in his father seemed to be the only two creatures in the ground. "Slash, I didn't tell you this... I thought we would have more time..."

"What?" Slash exclaimed, totally fearful.

"The arcanine... Something is wrong with them. When I was holding the vigil for the murdered packmates... Slash, they came back to life. And they tried to kill me," his father huffed, as Slash gave him a fearful glazed look. "Slash, what I mean to say is... I am going to turn, and you're going to need to kill me before I hurt anyone else."

"No! I won't!" Slash yelled, backing away.

"Slash, you need to do it. Remember when I told you that being Alpha wasn't just about being the boss? That there would be times where it would be tough to do the right thing? It's time for you to do the right thing. Kill me, take Nova with you, and run far, far away. We will all without a doubt die here tonight, and my heirs must continue our ancient legacy."

Slash hesitated, and his father looked at him expectantly. But Slash could see his father's fur dropping off, and his wounds beginning to seal up. His eyes that were once glazed with death becoming glazed with an ominous power. Slash gritted his teeth, and stared at his father's mutating body. And he turned and ran.

/End it, end it, end it.../

Slash could feel his dream beginning to wane, as he grabbed Nova from the pup den. She was young, only just old enough to learn to hunt. She was crying and couldn't form words due to her panic. "Nova, we need to run. Forget about all of this. We need to go." He gripped tightly onto the small Houndour's scruff, and ran, dodging Arcanine and Houndoom who were trying to confront him, to kill him and his sister. He was finally stopped by a massive houndoom, who Slash almost didn't recognize as his father at first, until he saw the dangling pendant that the alpha wore. Realizing his failure to destroy his father, Slash was frozen in front of the Houndoom.

The deranged houndoom leapt at Slash, ready to deliver a killing blow.

Slash's eyes flew open. Thank you, thank you Ebony, oh it's over, Slash said, sitting up in a shock. While the area he was staying in currently wasn't the greatest of locations, being awake was certain better than experiencing the dreams that haunted him in the night. Slash walked up to Ryu, who had been keeping vigil all night. Sunny was beside him, already awake.

"Thanks Ryu," Slash said, his eyes staring at the distant sunset. "You need to go to sleep. I know that you're dedicated, and that's great and all, but if you die while we're out travelling, it's on me. I don't want you to be more susceptible to get hurt. Just take and hour, and I'll keep watch." Slash let out a sigh. "Trust me, I won't be getting any sleep..."

SirBlaziken

Ryu nods, "Alright, thanks." The lucario figured that the houndoom was trying to take a leadership role here. So, he added, "Right now, houndoom, I think we're the strongest of the group. So I think we'd be the ones to lead us. First, tell me your name."

Keira was in the middle of the room, focusing her thoughts. Suddenly, she felt, stronger. That rest is what she needed. Keira felt ready to prove her worth. Suddenly, a d-day wurmple walked out of the shadows and hissed. "Ryu! You missed one!" she yelled. Keira spammed ember over and over until the bug finally fell, smoldering. She dug into her bag and ate a pecha berry, not wanting toasted bug for food.
