Everyone was finally starting to move out. Sunny was just turning around to follow when she heard Jaime shout "Sunny, catch!" Sunny whirled her head around to see a Sitrus Berry flying towards her. She only had time to life her hands halfway to her face before it hit her forehead and then landed in her hands. "Thanks, Jaime!" She yelled back at him and then quickly ate the berry. It was sour and good!

Realising that she was falling behind a bit she put all four hands/feet on the floor and scampered after her friends. It felt weird to walk on all fours in her 'new' body but it was definitely quicker than trying to catch up on two legs.

Ryu started off, with Keira right next to him. The lucario was struggling to carry Reiru, and walk at the same time. The charizard's tail was starting to drag on the ground, not exactly good for her. Keira walked over and used her head to keep Reiru's tail flame off the ground, plus, it was a rejuvenating source of heat for the young vulpix.

As the two walked on, Ryu was showing signs of strain. Charizards aren't exactly light

"How did the greninja carry Reiru?" Ryu asked, not expecting an answer. Keira responded, "Her name is Reiru?" Ryu forgot that the vulpix didn't really know the Charizard at all. Every time the lucario and charizard talked, Keira is incapacitated, either scared out of her mind, or asleep.

"I forgot you didn't know her name Keira, my bad." Ryu said. He was panting quietly from the strain. The vulpix looked up at him in worry, but decided not to say anything, because of Ryu's pride. The only way the lucario would accept help is if he asked himself, not if someone just offered. Slash was making good time, and Ryu was determined to keep pace, almost to make up for the outburst at the battlefield. So Keira decided to tough it out with him.

Slash turned his head around, and saw Ryu holding Reiru. While Slash was remarked at his strength, he knew that it was difficult to carry a beast that huge. Slash turned around, and walked towards Ryu. Slash was another six inches taller at the head, and at the shoulder, him and Ryu were about the same height. "Come on, let's both get to the front of the group. I don't want you and Reiru falling behind," Slash said, lowering his head and putting Reiru's rear on his shoulders. Great ebony, she's like three times the weight of me, Slash thought, feeling the hard muscle press down upon him. And he thought that carrying Knuckle was difficult... Luckily, with the two splitting their strength, carrying Reiru couldn't be too difficult.

SirBlaziken

Ryu shot a grateful glance at Slash as he and Keira walked up to the front, and some of the weight was taken off his shoulders. The tail flame now drifted in between Keira and Slash as the 3 carried the Charizard. "I find it strange that the blaziken is nowhere in sight. That and the hitmonlee seems to have gone awol. So we have a young vulpix, us two, a severely injured charizard, a young biped electric type who can barely use 2 legs instead of 4, an awol hitmonlee looking for a fight, an aqua rabbit, and what looks like a ninetales riding a garchomp." says Ryu to Slash. He considers this carefully and then asks the houndoom "What sort of pokemon was Del? Who has he?"

Keira happened to wonder the same thing. It's like Ryu spoke for both of them, when she couldn't find the words, Ryu did it for her. That's another reason Keira liked her dark companion.

"I know," Slash groaned, realizing in full how ragtag his group was. "No matter what, we're all going to need eachother though..." he said to both Ryu and himself. The houndoom was determined to find his way to Kanto, and then find his way back, and cure those who survived from his family. He would give anything for things to be back to normal...

"What sort of pokemon was Del? Who was he?"

Slash paused for a moment, trying to know how to describe Del. "Del was the mega gengar, I think you'd gather. He was, of course, our first leader, and our leader for the first ten years. I'm not the oldest member in the group, I've only been here for about five years. The doomsday virus didn't hit my pack for quite a while, it turns out..." noticing he was going off on an emotional tangent, Slash regained the conversation's focus. "He was powerful, witty, and had special powers. I don't know tons about technology, but they put little bits in him to make him better. An experiment or something. Kind of had a sixth sense for what was going on in your head. It was weird," Slash said, realizing now that he didn't know too much about Del, besides that he was a great leader and Slash almost looked up to him. "Hope that explanation was adequate."

SirBlaziken

"Alright thanks. I know now. And the only mega gengar there was a white on-. Wait. When I thought I saw a white flash after the tyranitar battle, I then thought I was hallucinating. Now I know I wasn't. White flash.... Odd." Ryu said, "Well, enough with conspiracies, how much farther? I don't think Reiru's condition is getting any better."

//White Flash? Wait.//

Kalea snapped out of another daze, to see that she was following behind the group, seemingly choosing to act as rearguard. How she'd gotten there she wasn't sure but... Looking around, she saw that the frog who'd brought Reiru back (and who Kalea had a sneaking suspicion had finished of the sister Reiru had failed to kill, and also knew more that he was letting on about the virus.)
Don't be paranoid. He's alive, and seems willing to help. And considering that it's us against a zombie hoard spanning six regions... We need all the help we can get. ...Arceus, for every one of this team who dies, I'll be taking a piece out of your hide. Ten frilling years we've kept them alive. If i ever find you, I'm taking a piece out of you for Del. That's a promise. Even though it didn't help anything to promise to take pieces of Arceus' hide (not in the least because he clearly didn't give a flying Frillish about how the world turned out, why else would he have let the D-Day virus take hold?), it helped the Blaziken to feel better.
"Go help them with Reiru. I can watch our backs."

"... Thanks Innis. ... Losing Del took a huge toll"

"Yeah. Damn D-Day mons. We'll get through this. With everyone still here alive and kicking. We're gonna save the world. And nobody and nothing's gonna stop up." Clearly Innis believed that he was speaking the truth, or he wouldn't have been able to say it. That was both an advantage, and a disadvantage of his Fairy typing. He couldn't lie, but opinion was dodgey territory. As was omitting parts of the truth.
Even so, Kalea felt better for Innis' pep talk. She figured that he was actually being sincere. She only hoped that he was right.

SirBlaziken

"Alright, let's be rational. Del had a building fall on him. There's no way he could've lived." Ryu whispered to Keira. "He's a ghost right? So doesn't that mean that Del could've gone through the building? she whispered back.

Ryu thought about it for a moment, then whispered back, "Keira, that 5 year old logic just may be the answer! Then again, the mega tyranitar weakened him, so that may not have been possible. Hmm..... We'll have to see."

This whisper conversation was just loud enough for someone close by to hear.

//Probably should've did that in our thoughts.//
//Yeah, that would've made more sense.//

"mrr... Mrr. Course Del... Alive." Reiru's voice was faint. She was barely conscious, but had heard, and processed enough of Keira and Ryu's conversation to understand roughly what they were talking about (although she didn't process the part about  a building falling on Del. That was too much to process for her at the moment.)

((short i know. Please remember that Reiru was fighting Mei when Slash showed up, so didn't hear that Del was 'dead'))

SirBlaziken

//She's conscious.//
//That could be a problem. I'll use hypnosis.//

"Hypnosis." whispered Keira, and she entered Reiru's mind, and tried to put her to sleep.

((Gotta love subliminal messaging))

Reiru resisted the Hypnosis for barely a minute. Then she was deep in sleep once more. Her body twitched in dreaming, and at one point her tail flame flared up in panic at whatever nightmare was tormenting her.

Kalea ran to the trio who were carrying Reiru. "I can carry if someone needs a break. Also, Keira was it? If you have any mint in that pouch, put it at her snout. It'll settle the nightmares for a while." Amazing what you learn in six months...

((also Blaze, i've had an idea. Can you pm me what you've come up with for Ryu's clan? Ideas are bubbling. Might make a form for the one in mind))

SirBlaziken

((Got it))

"I can hold for now, thanks, I'll let you know when I can't go any further."

"Mint, interesting." Keira looks in her bag, and just happens to have some. "I forgot I had this." She jumps up and is able to throw some mint into Reiru's snout.

"Well, let's hope Santalune isn't too far, Reiru won't last till dawn with these injuries." Ryu said, drawing conclusions from Keira's observations.

"if we have to take a break before then, if you change the bandages, put honey on the wound. It'll keep infection out, and help it to dry out, and heal faster. Please don't ask how i know this. I just do." Kalea said, watching Reiru carefully. As predicted, the twitching and thrashing settled down, and the sharp soothing mint scent penetrated the dragon's subconscious.

((note- honey does actually do all that. I've only seen it used in vet clinics, but the results were suprisingly amazing.))

Danatales

Dana tilted her head up and smelled the crisp air from atop Jaime's head. She could already tell the metropolitan scents of Lumiose City were starting to recede, replaced with more earth scents of the routes. She looked down, eyeing the injured Reiru. She shuddered slightly and snorted, resting her head on top of her Garchomp friend, folding her ears back and closing her eyes. Seeing such large Pokemon in such bad shape always made her uncomfortable. Reminded her too much of the frailty of everything. Of herself...

There were too many of them. They'd made a mistake, taken a wrong mountain path, stumbled right in a some kind of pit of infection. She'd been the one to convince them to take the route. It'd be faster, she said. Now there were only Doomsday Pokemon, eyes peering from crevices, bodies in the scraggly trees, surrounding them. Mostly  Ground types, she remembered. Sandshrews, Rhyhorns. Gligars.
Except for one. The Haxorus.
Massive thing, one axe-tusk ripped clean out of its jaws, eyes filled with disease-riddled hatred. It had gone for her friend first, clobbering his Gabite body with the strongest Dragon Claw she'd ever seen. She screamed his name, lunged to protect him from the bites of the infected others. But she wasn't strong enough. She wasn't strong against any of them. Her flames would do nothing for their gravely hides, her psychic abilities barely able to slow them down.
She heard an awful noise, like two stones grinding together, before being struck hard from behind by one of the monsters. She'd yelped, tumbled into the earth, unable to get up. It hurt, everything hurt. She was certainly one of her legs was stuck under a rock slide. All she could do was look up, see that terrifying Haxorus approaching, jaws open, teeth bared and ready to rip into her soft flesh.
She'd squeezed her eyes shut, furious at herself and scared out of her mind.
She didn't want to go out like this.
And she didn't.
"STAY AWAY FROM HER!!"
The roar was monstrous, feral, words barely comprehensive to her. Something large had lunged forward with vicious speed, slamming into the Haxorus. She'd looked up, seen a massive blue shape coated in a rippling red aura, ripping into the axe dragon with rows of razor sharp teeth and claws.
The Haxorus didn't stand a chance. It had tried to fight back, clamp its jaws into the attacker, but it was too strong. In seconds it seemed like, the beast had been... obliterated. And the second it was down, its killer had done nothing but continue its rampage, roaring and throwing claws into the smaller Pokemon that had been attacking with an abandon that made it seem like it didn't even care they were diseased and dangerous.
She had panicked, struggled, shoved her head into her neck fluff and prayed she'd be forgotten about in this fray. She heard roars and screeches and horrible noises as she assumed the red glowing attacker tore its way through the hoard.
Suddenly, she felt the weight on her legs disappear, as the rocks burying them were literally smashed to bits. She had screamed, curled up tighter out of instinctive fear, unable or unwilling to look up at the creature that had freed her.
And then things grew silent.
All she could hear was labored breathing, the sound of something heavy slumping to the ground. She didn't look up. Not for a while. She hoped her friend had made it out of this mayhem unharmed. After all, it had been he she'd tried to protect in the first place.
Breathing shakily, she had decided to risk it, and slowly looked out. To her surprised she found something staring at her. The attacker. A massive blue and gold reptile, pectoral fin raised in the air as it sat forward, balancing on its single front claws. It was breathing roughly, a red glow dying in its eyes. Then she noticed it, the ridge on spines atop his head. The ones she remembered once seeing and calling 'radical'.
"...Jaime...?"
He'd smiled, or something like that. Pulled his toothy jaws back into the goofy grin she last remembered seeing on a Gabite body.
"I...was confused. Didn't wanna hurt you, so...I sat over here."
She'd blinked, breathed a laugh. He always cared way too much. She swallowed, coughed, raised her voice.
"I didn't know you could use Outrage you big dork."

Dana yelped, eyes flicking open as memories flooded her and woke her up violently. In her surprise she tumbled off Jaime's back, hitting the ground hard, "GRAUGGHH!!"
Jaime stopped, looked down with a gasp, "Dana! You okay?"
The Ninetales sat up, eyes wide, slowly coming back to the present, "I...ugh." Her face went back to her usual look of vague annoyance, and she huffed out smoke. "I'm fine, big guy. Don't worry." She looked around, hoped no one had seen her fall off her friend. She started to walk alongside him, keeping her head down.
It wasn't like her for such vivid memories to shoot into her head.
Odd.

"B-But, Cindy? I-I thought..." Del exclaims, stuttering often. "I thought I killed you!"

"Look Cindy, I know this won't help the fact I shot you in the stomach, but I'm sorry,,okay? I've tried my best to survive like this for ten years straight, and I'm not going to trust a freaking zombie with blood pouring from one arm sneaking up towards me, right? I just -"

"Del, calm down. I understand. I feel so bad now for trying to sneak up on you like that... The Doomsday infection took over..."

"Cindy, dont worry. I'm just overjoyed to see you again after so long, even if you are dead..."

"I'm not dead you nimrod, I'm a Ghost! I was dead before all this crap started! I'm not gonna die again, am I?" Cindy yells." Youre a Ghost too, I dont see why you've been worrying for this damn long!"

"......Lord, I am such a moron" Del says, putting his head in his hands. "This means I protected those guys for SO LONG for NO REASON!"

He reloads his shotgun. "All the more reason to get them killed."

Cindy looks shocked. "Kill them? But they helped you live for this long!"

"They did the opposite! I had to save their asses over and over! Who cares if I got infected anyway? I would just eventually die and turn back into my old self again. Then I'd get infected again and turn into a monster! Its an endless cycle!"

"......Right. I see where you're getting at." Cindy replies, the gems around her neck glowing. "I can teleport us to their location, okay?"

Del nods. "Thanks Cindy. Without you here, it'd take me years to find them all. And the Doomsday Pokemon wouldve probably gotten them by then anyway."

Cindy holds Del's hand, and the two of them become surrounded in a blue light.

Del readies his shotgun and grins. "I'm gonna enjoy this."
