I thought the same but with the (mostly) bad luck I was getting I was pretty ready to give up and just use that. However, I valiantly continued on, following all your advice, and have got these:

Scyther - #123 (Jolly) Male (♂) Technician: 27 / 31 / 31 / 11 / 31 / 31

Scyther - #123 (Jolly) Male (♂) Technician: 31 / 31 / 15, 17, 19 / 0, 2 / 29 / 31

Better I think =D

Now to do the same for Adamant! =D

Haven't posed in here for a while because I've been going for a quin perfect male scraggy parent (which hasn't materialised yet :( ) but during my break to breed Scizor on gen 4, this pretty little thing popped out:

Scyther - #123 (Jolly) Female (♀) Technician: 31 / 5 - 11 / 31 / 31 / 31 / 31

Not exactly the quin I wanted but it's pretty cool anyway. Now I know everyone that reads this will be thinking, wow that attack stat is rubbish, and it is, but I'm planning on possibly using this with swords dance to counteract it's awful IV, thoughts?

Just decided to hatch some of the spare eggs I had lying about and these little beauties popped out:

Deino - #633 (Timid) Female (♀) : 31 / 13 / 31 / 28 / 31 / 31

^has an unfortunate lack of dark pulse, any suggestions as to what I can use instead would be appreciated :)

Axew - #610 (Naughty) Male (♂) : 31 / 31 / 31 / 19 / 31 / 11 < - - Hidden power dark 70.. yay..? xD;

^wrong natured and without speed but a good parent none the less

I'm thinking of letting the Hasty one on the last page become a Scarf one, and having this one be a Life Orb abuser using Draco Meteor / Flamethrower / Dark Pulse / Surf, or even a Choice Specs one and letting it fire off phenomenal Draco Meteors from that SAtk. Part of me screams out to keep going, but it's what.. 2 SAtk points off. Unless anybody can show me where, seeing as it'll be maxed in EVs, it's going to turn a OHKO/2HKO into a 2HKO/3HKO, I think I'm gonna stick and turn my focus onto breeding Archeops.

Yeah I have exactly the same mindset when I'm breeding, but like you say, it isn't going to make a difference. Especially if, like me, you only really use your Pokémon in the sub or infrared battles where they're all level 50 and it makes even less of a difference. Specs would be really cool but I think Life Orb makes more sense if you're running modest too :)

Swift Swim [DW]
Modest
31 / 26 - 27 / 30 / 28, 30 / 26 / 30

I know it's not SUPER AMAZING, but it's ~incredibly good~ imo.

And it's Male so I can use it as a father for Ludicolo! Woo!~

Nice work Tim! May I borrow the parent's for it when I see you next?

And now onto my own breeding:

Deerling - #585 (Jolly) Male (♂) : 31 / 23 / 30 / 10, 12 / 31 / 31 with Chlorophyll
Hidden Power grass 59/70 YAY!! xD;

I'm going to keep going to get a better one with Sap Sipper but I'm going to use this one as a sun sweeper with Swords Dance / Horn Leech / Return / Jump Kick

What are you using it for?

The loss of Intimidate that would negate that low Defence is what lets this down. 3 less Attack is nothing when it comes to Moxie, and what boundaries you'll be hitting in terms of OHKO/2HKOs, but.. that defence'll haunt you won't it? =/

I've done some damage calcs and it turns out that without Charti Berry Gyarados can't take a stone edge from things like Archeops or Conkeldurr (with or without Guts boost) anyway so I think I'm going to keep it :)

Gyarados - #130 (Adamant) Female (♀) Moxie: 31 / 28 - 29 / 14 - 15 / 22 / 31 / 31

Should I keep this one or keep going for a slightly better one?

Minccino - #572 (Jolly) : 14 - 15 / 31 / 31 / 8 - 9 / 12 - 13 / 31

Very nice =D. I'd keep that if I were you, Cincinno isn't going to take much of a hit anyway so a little extra bulk wont make a difference.

Hone Claws / Dragon Claw / Bolt Strike / Stone Edge perhaps?

Could go for something like
Dragon claw
Crunch
Fusion bolt
Hyper beam / Thunder wave / Protect / toxic

to avoid needing to set-up and get the ability to cripple an opponent or scout

Pain Split might be worth a look. Will O Wisp too, perhaps go along the lines of something like this? Will O Wisp / Pain Split / Hex / Protect, aiming to be a bit of a support set?

Yeah, it's a good set, but I think that given Chandy's lack of bulk it would be outclassed by things like Cofagrigus and Dusknoir.

SRock weak and not immune to Spikes means defensive Chandelure doesn't even exist, sorry to say. Timid or Modest is the only way to go with Chandelure. Timid is preferred unless you're running Scarf, but both Timid and Modest Specs are scary powerful.

I knew it was a bit of a long shot to pull it off, I might try it in the battle sub where there aren't any entry hazards to worry about. I'd never really considered Specs due to the lack of speed but I might try that with tailwind support or a baton passer.

Cheers guys!

I got a bold Litwick while I was breeding and I was wondering on how to EV it. I was thinking

Chandelure @Charti Berry
Bold
Flash Fire
-Calm Mind
-Flamethrower
-Energy Ball
-Shadow Ball
EV's?

What do you guys think?

U-turn is probably the safest choice. Depending on the team, knock off might be a good option too.

I thought it was about time to finally start soft re-setting for the event Suicune and the first one I got was this:

Suicune - #245 (Relaxed) : 0 - 1 / 12 - 13 / 28 - 29 / 31 / 27 / 24

It's a bit of a shame about the HP but the solid defences and flawless Special Attack make up for it I think =D

@Avalon

If you're worried about priority then this could be an option over Blissey. I used it on my battle sub team with Cloyster and Garchomp and it soaked up almost all priority beautifully.

Jellicent @Leftovers
Modest [+Sp.Atk, -Atk]
Water Absorb
-Surf
-Shadow Ball
-Energy Ball/Protect
-Ice Beam
180 HP / 76 Def / 252 Sp.Atk

Jellicent resists or is immune to all priority except Shadow Sneak and Sucker Punch and with the EVs given can still switch into them. Max Special Attack gives a surprising amount of power (in my experience 2HKOing most pokemon). This works better with Garchomp for the electric immunity but if you fear priority, this is a good option
