The best I'd say is Ferrothorn. It has a very unique typing which works well for it aside from its double weakness to Fire Pokemon and it can learn many powerful attacks.

Magmar. Never a big fan of it, design wise

Best winged Pokemon?

Probably either Lugia or Celebi. I like Lugia's design a lot, but I just love Celebi because of the Pokémon 4Ever movie.
