"I don't believe we did" I say, as a waiter walks up to our table.

"May I take your order?" He says  not really specifying which of us he is speaking to.

"Lasagna for me." I respond. "Talk about timing." I whisper to Nikolai.

"I'll have the same also" I state, and then reply to Edan: "Yeah, a little too coincidental for my liking..." I say, half joking, half serious.

"Let's try to stay off the topic of necromancy, ok?" I whisper to Nikolai

"Lasagne here," I add to the order, folding my menu and holding it up for the waiter to take.  "And a glass of red wine for myself, if you please."

"So, only one person left. Chloe, your turn." I say.

"Lasagna for me too, thanks!"

"A bit eager there aren't we Chloe?" I respond jokingly. "So, funny how you showed up just as that biomancer about killed me. Were you following us again Siofra?"

"Afraid not.  I was looking for someone up for a challenge, and then I got bored."

The waiter places a wine glass in front of me and holds out the bottle of wine to show me.  I take it from his hands and pour a glass, waving a dismissal.  The waiter leaves, not sure what to make of me other than my appalling manners.  Well, that's at least what I can read of him.

"That's when I saw you lot coming out of that house.  I'll say that I wasn't expecting a biomancer to come up like that; as strong as he was, only a master would be able to pick him up."  I take a mouthful of the wine and gulp it down.  "Speaking of which, what was so important in that house?  Interesting place it was in, I can say that much."

"I was having some of my memory erased" I say, quietly. I pour myself a glass of wine, even though I am to young to drink. I take a sip and it tickles my throat on the way down, leaving a horrible aftertaste. I smile at everyone as if to say "OK, get on with your lives, don't mind me."

"Say no more."  I ignore Chloe sneaking some wine for herself (hey, it's none of my business; I'm not a babysitter) and take a smaller sip from my own glass this time.

I carry on drinking the wine, feeling my face contort as it runs down my throat. I finish my glass just as the food arrives. I stare at the big plate of lasagna.

I push it around my plate a bit, occasionally picking up a mouthful to eat. It tastes nice but the smell of Parmesan in the air puts me off it.

I sigh at Chloe's slow pace of eating.  After wolfing down a couple more mouthfuls of my own meal, I call the waiter over and order some ciabatta bread.

"Don't have to eat fancy if you don't want to, Chloe," I point out.  As if to prove it further, I stuff my mouth with a huge bite of lasagne and plant my elbows on the table, ignoring the glare the waiter sends my way as he gets the bread.

I eat slowly at first, then speed up the pace just a bit then look a Siofra, already halfway done and ordering ciabatta bread. I tell the waiter to get me some as well. "Well, Nikolai, you were right, this place is nice." I say. I take another bite as another waiter comes back with a pitcher of water and refills my glass. "Thank you." I respond as he bows and retreats to the kitchens.

Soifra's audible sigh annoys me, I speed up eating for a while, before slowing down again and finally finishing my lasagna. I look up, smile and then wipe my mouth with the napkin... I lean back in my chair, finishing my drink.
