What do you think of Smash 4?

Well, battling a friend at school who isn't near competitive. So it's pretty fun to watch her get a little frustrated when she blows herself up on accident as Link, for the 3rd time in a row.

Plus, just cleared Classic 9.0 as my original main, Lucario. I feel accomplished.

It's pretty good for a handheld, or at least I think it is. I haven't played the Wii U version 'cause I don't own a Wii U, so I can't really give much of an opinion on that. I've enjoyed the 3DS version though, though like any other Smash game, it seems to be more fun with friends once you get done with a lot of the single player stuff. n_n

So I got the new stages and characters today. I'm really liking how Roy looks in this game and since I fight more up close, i'm probably going to switch my main to him instead of Marth. Ryu's really confusing for me though.

I'm just going to complain now about how I was maining Roy before it was cool :V

SirBlaziken

It still isn't cool, everyone's probably going to main Ryu. Plus I didn't main anyone in melee because I was too young to really go competitive with it.

Ryu is more or less like Palutena and Greninja: they either break the meta or are very combo-dependent. The Shoryuken and the Tatsumaki are techniques that require a combo to be used or simply an opportunity, whilst the Hadoken, even being the slowest projectile, can chain a lot of combos. You should play Street Fighter II or IV to understand what I am saying in depth (not I because it is wrong, nor III because, although similar, is the most different from SSB).

I must say that just this addition will make me reconsider to buy a Wii U.

I do not think so; Ryu requires the greatest level of skills to use in SSB to the fullest, and, apparently, he lacks a way to approach his opponents safely. We will see how his dodge and shield behave.

Good. Roy's MY boy.

SirBlaziken

Wait? Which Roy? Is it this one?

At full charge on all stars at point blank, his regular special does 140%, which is obscene. My brother has to have items on for him to be able to beat me with his best, Ryu.

I love Roy.

Roy was my main in Melee so if I ever get the chance to play Smash 4 I'll probably use him

SirBlaziken

Alex, I used Roy a little bit in main. He's a lot and I mean a lot better now.

HA! I said it first that Ryu would be perfect for the game and everyone shot me diwn. Now that he's in the game, can we all agree Goku, Cloud, Riku, Sora, Sephiroth, Akuma, Spyro, and maybe even Crash Bandicoot may show up too?

Ok, FF maybe, but Riku and Sora are owned by Disney, so probably not. Goku would be op af and I dunno about the rest. Too bad you got rid of your copy, so now you can't get Ryu. Oh well, not my circus, not my monkeys.

To anyone who plays as FE Roy: If you can time it right, as the opponent falls towards the edge after you launch them towards the left or the right, charge your neutral special up and use it when they're in range but not grabbing the ledge. It's almost a guaranteed KO if you time it well.

And his critical hit is not an auto KO like Lucina and Marth.

None of those guys will show up, because Goku is an anime character first.  The rest of those guys are Sony characters first with almost no appearance in Smash, and I doubt they will make it in smash because Squareenix isn't that closely associated with nintendo.

Also, Roy is my least favorite lord, but he's so much fun.  His final smash is EXACTLY his critical hit animation with the Sword of Seals in FE6, which I thought was pretty awesome.

Yes, and I'm still surprised, but it makes a lot more sense because Street Fighter 4 was a 3DS game.
