How can I get shinies easier?

Ever since I started playing S/M in December, I've always wanted MY OWN shiny. So I can say that I caught it and didn't get it in trade. Any good methods?

I don't know if hordes exist in Sun/Moon like they do in X/Y, but I know you can still do the Masuda Method.
