Not so much happiness as relief - I've finally managed to get my head on straight. If all goes well, I'll be able to face up to my problems instead of kust cowering in the corner assuming nothing can be done. I'm going to BE THE MAN.

I'm usually the same, but I think the lack of me being exposed to the radio day-in day-out, and the fact I don't watch TV very often, has saved me from the over-commercialism that is Christmas. Instead I feel cheery when I hear christmas music for once =D

my friends have always hated christmas 
so I have to nod and say yes, it's terrible, it's overcommercialised, oh the music is annoying, what the hell is going on with those BBC idents, etc 
 
but even though nothing really happens at Christmas... we don't go anywhere, we don't do anything really special 
I still like it 
I like the excuse to eat everything in sight and then spend the rest of the day lying on the sofa like a boa constrictor trying to digest it all whilst watching awful TV 
I like the Big Fat Quiz of the Year, and I like Charlie Brooker's yearly show and the Doctor Who christmas special 
I like how ridiculous and tacky it is 
I like the awful, awful, awful cheesy TV idents which the BBC has run with this year

I like getting presents- wait, I'm meant to say "giving presents"... such a shame. I mean there's never anything that I want but if it's getting money or books or something, that's grand. It's a week before my birthday, too, and I'm not expected to give people gifts on my birthday. 
I like the ritual of finding and giving the worst gifts one can buy for under a tenner, and seeing who wins
