Not having 6v6 singles even in private lobbies makes it pretty worthless to me. I coached a friend to Master Ball tier in a day though, and that was fun.

Say Hello! / Re: Sign-In BookAugust 16, 2020, 03:33
I've checked in a few times. It bums me out that the glory days of pkmn.net are long gone. Lot of good memories here. I keep in contact with Utack & Swampy regularly, but haven't talked to most of the old guard for a long time.
I work nights, so I don't know that I have much to contribute these days, but I've gone ahead and joined the discord. Hopefully I can catch up with some old friends. #3
Games General / Re: What Did You Think of Pokemon Sword/Shield?July 21, 2020, 10:30
SwSh are the first games I didn't buy in the series I've loved since I was 9, when I first got Yellow version. I watched and helped my niece through her copy, and came to realize that I made the right call. Beyond the NationalDex stuff, which was a huge bummer in and of itself, these games are so blatantly rushed and unpolished. It's clear that Game Freak has been burnt out from years of forcing these games out annually or bi-annually. Knowing that these games sold incredibly regardless of quality doesn't bode well for the series going forward. Gen 7 was already pretty bad, but at least I have the Pokemon I like there, so I guess I'm stuck in Alola forever.

Team Building / Re: Mr Mime or DragoniteJuly 14, 2017, 16:40
Dragonite's movepool is very sparse as well in generation 1. If you're choosing between the two, Dragonite is superior. Take advantage of the gen 1 glitch where upon KOing an opponent with Hyper Beam, there is no recharge. I'd suggest something like:
Hyper Beam Surf/Blizzard Fire Blast / Body Slam / Thunder Wave Body Slam / Wrap / Thunder Wave Wrap prevents the opponent from doing anything, and most AI Trainers won't switch, if I recall. Add Paralysis to this via Thunder Wave or Body Slam (both of which have their merits) and Dragonite ensures he goes first to prevent the opponent from touching you. Blizzard has 90% accuracy in gen 1, Surf is easier to teach due to it being an HM. Fire Blast is probably better saved for Charizard if you're going to use it, but man, Dragonite's movepool in gen 1 is terrible. #5
Gaming / Re: Ideas for the Switch version of SSB4 and future gamesMarch 16, 2017, 04:22
Ice Climbers and Wolf should definitely return. I'd love to see Squirtle and Ivysaur return, but I have no hope for Snake, given the state of Konami.
I'd personally love to see Shovel Knight added to the cast. Dixie Kong seems deserving at this point. Wayforward wants Shantae in, and I'm all for it, but I don't see it happening. I guess Decidueye would be neat to complete the FWG trio, hopefully it wouldn't be as awful as it is in Pokemon. I'm not expecting many new characters, I just hope they do one more balance patch that improves some characters, fixes Bayonetta, and makes Sonic not so brain dead. Other than that, I like where Smash 4 is right now. #6
General Pokémon Discussion / Re: Best Yellow SpritesDecember 08, 2016, 16:02Quote from: The name master on December 08, 2016, 15:22 The limited technology at the time meant very few colors could be displayed on a single image, and the sepia color used on many sprites allowed you to get an idea of what the Pokemon looked like without giving it a single strongly defining color. I'm quite fond of Charizard, Blastoise, Butterfree, Sandshrew, Pikachu, Nidoking, Jigglypuff, Oddish, Vileplume, Venonat, Victreebel, Golem, Rapidash, Farfetch'd, Gengar, Kingler, Rhydon, Seadra, Scyther, Articuno, Mewtwo and Mew. Yellow means a lot to me, being my first Pokemon game about 18 years ago now, so there's a lot of nostalgia there for all these sprites. #7
Trades / Re: Sun and Moon Trade StandDecember 07, 2016, 23:05
Keep at it, Dan, I raised a Meowth from level 10 to 85 before getting one, while a friend got one from a level 27. I'll send ya the Scyther whenever you've got one to begin breeding.
I've updated the OP with more mons, and will continue to do so as I breed more perfects. Shout outs to Lightningrod Alolan Marowak for being one of the only switch-ins for most of the OP stuff in the metagame right now. #8

Trades / Re: Sun and Moon Trade StandDecember 04, 2016, 14:22
Heyyy! I'd love an Eevee!! Mareanie is that thing, yep! Just so you know, though, Baneful Bunker is pretty bad on it - Standard is Scald, Recover, Haze, Toxic / Toxic Spikes right now. I think I still have your FC maybe? Unless it changed?

Trades / Re: Sun and Moon Trade StandDecember 04, 2016, 13:38
Destiny Knot passes 5 IVs between both parents, so you can get perfect mons pretty fast with a few good Ditto!
Anyway, Dan, how about this: I'll trade ya the Scyther and you can use that to breed a Trapinch for me and keep the Scyther. Let me know if that's good for you! #11

Dan, check the first post! I hadn't checked this for a few days because I didn't expect replies, but you're definitely welcome to one of my perfect Scyther! If you have or can breed a DD Trapinch that would be sweet. I'll check this more frequently!

This is probably useless here, but I'm beginning to breed competitive Pokemon in generation 7, I'd be interested in breedjects (3-4 perfect IV Pokemon), good HA Pokemon, as well as interesting things. Don't be afraid to offer! Here's what I have:

Sun and Moon / Re: Sun & Moon Progress ThreadNovember 25, 2016, 15:25
Found and caught a shiny Pikipek in a matching Timer Ball while EV training a Rockruff I bred.
Speaking of which, I bred a Rockruff with Fire Fang and Thunder Fang. Gonna eventually Bottle Cap him because I've come to love Midday Lycanroc. I got an Ice Stone from Poke Pelago, so I finally evolved my Sandshrew and can enter the Elite Four.
