Gaming / Re: Pokemon On The SNES

Why can't we just have a Pokémon game where you don't need to trade to complete the pokedex?
Because then people who don't have friends who usually buy both versions so they can complete the Pokédex solo will only have to buy one copy which results in a net loss of sales.

Probably less relevant in the age of online trading but I'm pretty confident it still happens so that's why.

The big reasons the Gameboy was used instead of the SNES include the fact it was portable, so you could play on the go wherever you are, simulating actual insect collecting (which Pokémon was inspired by), and the ability to link the consoles together to trade and battle, which as far as I'm aware the SNES was completely unable to do.

I have all 7 of their albums. I doubt they will replace him. I mean, nobody can pull off that 17 second scream like he could!
Austin Carlile (formerly of Of Mice & Men) has a bunch of long screams, I think the one at the end of "This One's For You" is like 21ish seconds?

this is super sad, Hybrid Theory and Meteora were such great albums, and I liked around half of Minutes To Midnight. Really sucks that people suffer like this and then end up doing this. feel for his family and friends.

I may be able to get an esports scholarship to a university in ohio. Probably not likely, but it's possible.

what game?

also I don't know what the state of esports scholarships are nowadays but I remember the """"first"""" ones ended up being super terrible and the students ended up having to pay a lot more money than they expected or something so I would caution you to really look into it because they seem like pretty new and uncharted territory so I don't know how well schools treat them or whatever, but I also don't know much about scholarships in general.

I used a thing in my emulator which does an AVI recording, then there's this thing that pops up about compression or something with multiple options (I just leave it as it is)
Use a program to record the footage, like OBS or... I don't actually know any other programs for recording stuff nowadays just use OBS I think, it's super easy to set up to local record.

Spent the last three days handing out flyers for the Tories in the general election since mother-in-law is in with them and is helping the Walsall South candidate out.

It's a pain because I'm voting red.
just bin 'em I reckon pal

I think theoretically it's possible, but I'm not sure.

There's a pretty interesting video about machine learning teaching a program to beat a level of Super Mario, but there are much simpler win and lose conditions in a game like Mario than in Pokemon.

It could probably be done in a few years though.

So typically the person running the stream will have created a bot that runs locally, connected to the game/emulator being run that reads chat and looks for specific inputs words or letter (for example "a" or "start" or "up"), and every time it reads "a", it will send the input that activates the "A" button on the game/emulator being used.

The same applies for other inputs. "start" = start button, "up" = up arrow, etc.

It started getting really fast really quickly but I could timescam a few pieces by spinning them a lot which saved me about 30 times.

I have a good quality microphone already, a Shure C606. I just don't have the means to plug it into my pc at the moment, since the plug is to big to fit into the small microphone socket.
Invest in an adapter for that then, you can probably find one cheap for like a fiver somewhere or something and it'll be 1000000000x better than a webcam microphone.

When I record my voice with my webcam, it sounds as though my head is in a fish bowl.

Get this fish bowl off my head. Seriously!

What can I do about this? I want to make Minecraft videos, but I can't with sound quality like that!
webcam mics are almost always terrible quality, if you want to make Youtube quality videos, you're infinitely better off investing in a real microphone of some sort.
