Starters surprise!!

Nintendo has confirmed that you will receive the KANTO starters before the new ones, and you can only get one starter from each type, so no doubles. In other news, there will be a start distribution for a torching holding a mega-evolution stone. Choose wisely.

Where did they confirm that the Kanto starters come first?

They never said you get the Kanto starters first. You get them from Sycamore later on. This marks the second time that the games' main professor doesn't live in the same town as you. From what I heard you get the Kanto starters in a town farther than one route away.

Kanto starters are given after the first gym, so they won't be there alongside your kalos starter from that early on.

So when they say you can only have one of each type from each starter set, does that mean I can't choose Fennekin and Charmander?

You get the starters just after the first gym which is within the first hour of playing, you will get the kanto starters very early in the game
