So I went into the boutique and the woman was all "You aren't stylish enough to come in here"

How do I become stylish? I've completely changed my looks twice but she still says that I'm not stylish enough.

Rejection is hard, man.

Yeah, I'm having trouble with that too. Apparently there are certain clothes you need to wear, but most websites seem unsure of what they are and I've been unable to try any of the suggested combinations. Someone online said this worked though:

- Logo Cap (Black)
- Down Jacket (Red)
- Cuffed Jeans (Blue)
- Ankle Socks (Red)
- Short Boots (Brown)
- Two-Tone Bag (Black)
- Wide Frame Sunglasses (Black)

A website I saw said:

QuoteShort Hair, Sideswept, Black
Logo Cap, Black
Striped Tank Top, Black
Jean Shorts, Pink
OTK Socks, Black
High Tops, Pink
Enamel-striped Purse, Blue
Wide-Framed Sunglasses, White.

but I spent loads of money trying this but it doesn't work...

There's also the "boss" at the bottom of the Lost Hotel, who said something similar. I had no clue on how to get past the fellow telling me I couldn't get through "dressed like that".
better than you, est. always

You seem to need to visit landmarks in the city and battle trainers in it.

Richard and Blaziken

Yeah, it's apparently not based on how you look at all, but rather, visiting different places in Lumiose City and battling Trainers within those places. I haven't done it yet because I can't be bothered, but that's what I've read from multiple sites.

Yeah I've heard that it in fact has nothing to do with what you wear but what you've visited in Lumiose City.

Also, the prices are crazy in there.

A few other things about clothing:

-Stock in the stores changes every day
-Certain clothing combinations will cause NPCs to give you different items (An Artist trainer gave someone a Pangoro hat for wearing colourful clothes)
-Certain clothing combinations trigger the salon to suggest new hair styles for you.

I just gained access there, I beat the one and 2 star restaurants and battled as many people as I could in the ally ways etc. throughout the city.

Wolstenholme

Aha! - I have been admitted to the cool gang! I beat the 2 star restaurant and then battled a couple of alley trainers et voila (getting in the french mood, non?) I gained access.

... there's a hair salon!? Where? I just resigned myself to having bad, default hair forever, I can't wait to change it :D

"i hope you get niall bursting out of a tower cake singing "happy birthday mr president" and he's wearing a "miss america 2013" sash while giving you a 3 hour lapdance"

has anyone noticed how the name tags for the different clothes have different colours? it seems matching different clothes of the same tag lead to some kind of special effect when you confirm your clothing choice.

Wolstenholme

A lot of the matching sets don't actually look that great together though.

I am however now sporting a rather stylish camo/brown shorts explorer type combo which looks totally fab but completely un-French
