Friend Safari Shiny Chance

OK, there's an increased shiny rate in friend safari apparently, in addition to the flat increase in chance with this gen. Does anyone know what it is yet? Also does your friend being online affect it?

plenty guys here have caught almost all their shinies in the safari zone. as of yet i have seen no shinies in the safari ozne so i'm a bit miffed but i will keep trying

1) Nobody knows the exact chance
2) It doesn't affect that. It only affects whether you can get HA Pokemon and the third slot pokemon.

So are the figures floating around the internet just speculation?

Also how do they know what affects it if they don't even know how it works? I mean, most of the info sites don't seem to credit it as being a thing.

Man, and here I thought I was simply lucky finding my shiny Doduo!  Unfortunately, I don't know the calculations for the shiny rate...

As already stated in the shiny topic, i came across a shiny bergmite after less than 15 encounters (i'll not lie, i definitely screamed and had to breathe into a pillow when i found it)

I thought initially it was just luck when I got a seviper literally my first encounter in a mate's safari, and then I saw another within like an hour and several friends have found a couple.

ugh i cant do friend safari yet because the 3ds system's... acting up? i'm FINALLY able to get into the shop... but it keeps lagging and glitching out at terrible times

i'll report any shinies i find, but as i haven't seen a SINGLE one ingame yet (havent bene on wifi, nor have any of the trainers/wild pokemon ingame had any) it may be the case that i start finding shinies in the safari. maybe.

kinda hope i get good pokemon for my safari though, i dont wanna be the one trainer that has like weedle, beedrill and kakuna or something

I found 4 shinies in FS, and two of them were literally one encounter after another (Audino, followed immediately by Teddiursa), so I already thought the rate was drastically lower in FS.

a damn good one, mind, especially if you're lucky enough to get one with good IVs in stats it needs the good IVs in
