I miss going to the gym, it kept me in a daily routine and I genuinely felt healthier. Then again if I started going again now I'd have to go to a 24 hour one since I'd need to be there at 4am if I was working an early shift.

Got home from game night last night with the sniffles and a scratchy throat so took some cold meds and napped, woke up with a splitting headache and full blown cold six hours later. Not looking great so far, 2015.

My Fiancee was turned away from a music degree at Birmingham University (a posh 'red brick' uni) because her family didn't earn enough.

If a school/college/uni has deep roots within classical music they do tend to have a snobby attitude to anything that's not their 'normal' thing. My school was like it. I was told I'd do nothing musically. Now I have a degree and a teaching qualification in it. To be fair, I did know a snobby guy at my old teaching job who frowned upon any guitarist post-1975.

So after a serious talk with a former coursemate of mine, I'm seriously considering trying my degree again. I also want to get out of the country.

Time to start looking at good music colleges in 'murica.
