Skarmory has been a hero on more than one occasion. While playing holding out for a hero is playing he's rescued mudkip from Rayquaza, then he's rescued Latias from a Sceptile.

perish song is a pokemon move & if you mean the trope of a brown note (or whatever the death equiv is) it's uh, not real. however!!!! if you go in a place with negative decibels, you can actually start hallucinating and panicing i believe because it was in a science study at one point iirc
