yep; that's correct.  its much easier for us to keep track of that way.

I realize we must stick to moves that exist already, but may we give the Pokemon a new ability that goes along with its concept?

Its probably best to keep it simple and sad no I'm afraid.  We'd like to keep the focus on the Pokemon, rather than its other elements, but I do understand the arugement it can be a part of it but abilites to me, for the most part are rather generic.

If it's so essential, then that would be a good thing to include if you ask me (Arceus' Multitype and Shedinja's Wonder Guard being examples of unique abilities that fit). If it's a random one, not relevant to the Pokemon (Pikachu's Static) then it's different. If it adds flavour, something interesting, I'd say go ahead. If it's just to add power, then there's little point.
