So, about Team Flare...

Not much is known about them yet except what the grunts look like and what type of Pokemon they use (Fire-types, or at the very least Houndour) So let's have a discussion on our impression of them so far, speculation, etc.

I'm going to assume they'll be after the cover legendary of whatever game you choose, but I could be wrong. Apparently their main goal is making money? I don't think there's much to go off of for this yet, though. Seeing as how the region's theme is "beauty", will Team Flare be at odds with this theme in some way, or do you think they'll simply be a throwback to Team Rocket? Or both?

As for the grunts' designs, I think I've warmed up to them since they were revealed, but I'm gonna say my first impression anyway, for better or worse: Team Flare is what happens when Johnny Bravo and Earthbound have babies and the babies dress like Elite Beat Agents when they grow up.

Long story short, I'm waiting for Team Flare to impress me. How about the rest of you?

I think they'll be like Plasma. They'll have a goal that doesn't seem so bad, but then the leader leaks out his real intentions with Team Flare. Though if I think about it, they'll be more of a money maker instead of a 'team with an innocent goal who are just misled by the team leader'.

I'm sticking to my theory in the other thread about Rocket coming back too, but yes so far with the facts we've been given they look absolutely nondescript. I do hope even if I'm wrong that they're not completely generic.

I think Team Flare will be a combination of Teams Rocket and Magma minus the desire to expand land mass. They may also be somewhat like Galatic in that the leader wants something but doesn't want to do it himself but not as cruel as Ghetsis was.

I'm guessing their idea of 'beautiful' is 'engulfed in a white-hot inferno'.

I'm sure the scientists will turn out to be harmless eccentrics with no real desire for destruction. They may inadvertently cause destruction by being misled by the Leader of Flare like Aqua and Magma or Galatic were. Rocket and Plasma in BW2 were the exception to inadvertent destruction. Most of the Teams simply wanted to change something in the world. Magma and Aqua both had shallow and naive views of creating more land or water for more life to live. They believed they'd be doing good by doing so and they never did anything outrageously wrong other than take the red and blue orbs.
