What it says in the title. Why do you like your favourite pokemon so much?

I like Latias because it's red (my favourite colour!) it's a dragon, it's really awesome and is really cute!
Thanks to Inferna for one of the many reasons why I love Dragonite!

Aww yeah, this will be fun.

So, Giratina. I love this thing. Like, no contest, favorite pokemon. First, there was how I discovered in in Diamond. The only reason I even discovered Wayward Cave was because of a guide I had for the games hinting something was there after you beat the game, so I checked it out and discovered the path that lead to it. From there, I had no idea what to do, so I wandered around the cave, just trying to find something. Then, after days, I found it, Giratina. It looked so different from any pokemon I'd seen before I wanted to know more about it. After many attempts, I caught it, then read the inscription on the wall behind it, something about it being from another dimension. Well, that was certainly interesting, too bad there was nothing else about it. And then Platinum happened.

Upon seeing the cover of Platinum my first thought was, "is that really the same as the pokemon in Diamond? It looks so much cooler!" I played through the game, as normal, then, once I reached Spear Pillar, things got so much more interesting. That animation as Giratina's shadow melted into the world, spreading it's wings, dripping darkness, it was amazing, the best thing I had seen in a pokemon game. Then there was the Distortion World. Oh man, the Distortion World is the main reason I want a gen 4 remake. It was like something out of a weird, twisted dream that isn't quiet scary enough to call a nightmare. That's the kind of stuff I absolutely adore.

And that's just the aesthetics surrounding Giratina. Then there's the lore. Gen 4, as far as I'm concerned, has the best lore of the pokemon series. I love all the Gen 4 legendaries, but the creation trio is the most interesting to me. If I talk too much about that, I'll start getting into headcanons and theories, so I'll leave it at that.

So, yeah, amazing aesthetics, great lore, favorite pokemon. Plus, there's something amusing about having this terrifying, other-dimensional dragon-god that you can befriend, pet, and feed little cupcakes.

I'm wondering what your second favourite pokemon is! What is it?

I also like Nidorina, because she is one of the characters in my animations. Too bad she gets beaten up and nearly killed at one point! :'(

Man, it's hard to choose a second favorite. Hydreigon is great. I mean, it's a hydra, which is great, that was originally going to be a cyborg dragon with tank aspects, but was scrapped but then revived to be based on Yamata no Orochi (an eight-headed snake in japanese mythology). It's just awesome and I love it.

Then there's Bisharp. Man, if Pawniard wasn't a late-game pokemon in BW and B2W2, I would have loved to use it. Such a cool looking pokemon. Really good too, I loved using it when I did competitive. If I go back to that, I'm going to make a team based around it.

Oh, and Aegislash! I absolutely love that floaty sword. I'm so glad Honedge was early in XY because I loved using it in my playthrough. It was amazing when I used it in competitive too. And it's just another really cool concept.

And Chandelure. Well, maybe Litwick a little more... Creepy ghost pokemon are fun.

I also really like Espurr. It's got that 'really cute but kinda unnerving' vibe, especially in PSMD.

This is getting out of hand... I'll stop ^^;

Captain Jigglypuff

I was just instantly drawn to Jigglypuff. I'm not exactly sure why but I thought it was the cutest thing I'd ever seen. Sewaddle is my second favorite due to its adorable face and little leaf hood. It just looks so cuddly compared to most Bug Pokemon with the exception of Caterpie and Kricketot. Most Bug types are either too cool looking, have dangerous traits that make hugging them uncomfortable, or just pretty to look at. Wurmple is cute but is knows Poison Sting which would hurt if you were accidentally stung, Scatterbug isn't that huggable looking, and Weedle has two poisonous barbs on its body. Not a lot of cute Bug Pokemon around.

Muk is my favorite. It has one of the most interesting sprites (it's throwing up a gang sign) and its animated Emerald sprite is funny. It looks like Muk is pressing itself like a button <3

I like the Poison type in general. Sadly most people dismiss Muk as an uncreative pile of sludge, when it's actually a very creative Pokemon based on the well-known fear that waste if left to accumulate will come to life.

Captain Jigglypuff

Muk and Grimer were also influenced design wise to the Smooze from the 80s MLP Movie where it caused catastrophic destruction and sucked out the energy from anyone who it touched in the slightest bit.

Inferna

My favourite Pokemon is Typhlosion. I remember playing through Gold for maybe the first or second time and just training it up from a Cyndaquil, I remember being in Mahogany town with it along with a Zubat at like level 7. It was also the first Pokemon I raised to level 100. So I think due to that I really grew to love the design and its cry. I still name all of my Typhlosions Blaster, 8 year old me clearly thought that was an awesome nickname lmao.

My second favourite is much more difficult! I did a quiz the other day on TCoD and Flygon came up but another favourite is Ampharos. So it's hard to say really!
I loved Flygons design and I'm pretty sure it was one of the first Pokesonas I made. It was so rewarding raising a Trapinch to evolve. Also I think because it was the first properly accessible dragon type, you caught Trapinch around the same level as your team, compared to in RBY/GSC where you got Dratini fairly late in the game.
Ampharos is just so cute! Mega Ampharos is also fabulous. I really liked the little story with Jasmine's sick one, and I'm growing to love it all over again with Ampharos in PSMD. Plus how it was one of the few electric types you could use in Johto and I never really liked Magnemite's line that much.

I should prob stop rambling lmao

The Shrub Dragon

I never knew that

Second favorite would have to be

Sunny the Solrock was my main Pokemon in Emerald that I raised with love. Its sprite and animation were hilarious. Apparently, Solrock is supposed to be the sun, but it wasn't floating in space in its Emerald sprite. It wobbled from side to side on the ground. I liked it instantly. Solrock's eyes squinting to see make it look like an aged, mature Pokemon, as does its raspy, shriveled-sounding cry.

@ E.K.A.N.S. Google Nothing Can Stop the Smooze and you'll see a pic of the creature. It was reintroduced in Friendship is Magic but it is now green and looks like Flubber but more round and not human shaped. This version also lacks eyes. I named a Grimer I caught The Smooze and plan on naming a Shiny one if I ever find one New Smooze.
