the name master you have messed up in your own thread

those are words you don't know how to pronounce, not words you cannot pronounce

like i don't know the correct way to pronounce certain words, but I 100% struggle at pronouncing the word RURAL. I know how to pronounce rural, but I have a very difficult time saying it.

I cannot pronounce Quagsire, because I don't know how to pronounce it.

If you don't know how to pronounce something, then you cannot pronounce it correctly and therefore is technically allowed....

The Hooded Trainer

You'd pronounce it the same way you pronounce quagmire. In other words, "quag" (rhyming with bag) if you're american, or "quog" (rhyming with dog) if you're british. At least, according to google, anyway.

I used to think that farfetch'd was pronounced farfetch-ed, but it's pronounced farfetched.

Hyndai confuses me. I've heard people pronounce it so that it rhymes and sounds like Honda but then my dad and I pronounce it as "Han-dai" with emphasis on the I.

^This is what I mean. I've literally heard five different ways to pronounce Hyndai that I don't know which is the correct one!

Well first off it's spelled Hyundai, so it should be hi-yun-day but the commercials shorten it to hun-day. Any other pronunciation is just being weird.

I think we can all agree that Hyndai is pretty confusing trying to pronounce and that no one knows the right way to say it.

Well it's a Korean company, and the way the Korean alphabet system works, they use syllable blocks. It looks like this 현대, so we can see there are two syllables. The first syllable 현 is Hyun (ㅎ = h, ㅕ = yu (u like in bus), ㄴ = n), and the second 대 (ㄷ = d, ㅐ = ae/ay) is somewhere between day and deh, I think I'm leaning more towards day personally but heyho. If it was something like "hi-yun-day" or whatever it would be 3 syllable blocks. 히연대 maybe? Google Translate pronounces that mostly the same though so maybe I need to study the alphabet more haha.

So I'm pretty sure it's "hyun day" in terms of pronunciation. Here's a Google Translate for anyone who wants to hear the Google Translate lady say it.

I'm surprised you gave up so easily considering you know some Korean, Captain Jigglypuff!
My mom bought me this new laptop and it gets really hot when the chat is being spammed. Now my leg is starting to hurt because it is getting so hot. Please, if you don't want me to get burned, then don't spam the chat.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Captain Jigglypuff

I only know some Korean and all that I know are terminology in the martial arts i study. I am not fluent in the language.

i don't think there are any words which i physically can't pronounce like there are ur standard cross-person differences w the whole my-graine/mee-graine thing

but i have days where i just blank and like,,,, can't speak properly.  usually it's not that bad and i kind of get halfway through a sentence and then i'll stumble and skip on to the next few words and people will get what i mean.  it's not like a long words thing i've had days where saying Tiananmen is no trouble at all but i'll get through that and then i'll stumble over a word like star or lots.  words where the tongue hits the same place in the mouth for a different sound

i think it's a dyspraxia/adhd thing idk im pretty sure its to do w my developmental disorder stuff tho

thanks gl <3
