I'm getting a NES. Should I get Super Mario Bros 2 or 3? Other people may play this too.

3 is universally considered one of the best Mario games, 2 is ~okay~ but it's pretty divisive since it was actually just a reskin of another game from Japan, so doesn't really play or feel like a normal Mario game. Not bad, but not great either.

3 is preferable as it can become a 2 player game where as SMB 2 is just one player.

Is Mario 3 overrated? I barely hear anything bad about it. People only talk about the good things. I can think of two bad things.

1) You can't save. This is a long game, most people won't beat it in one sitting
2) The shoe power up only appears in, like, one level. Why?

SMB 2 is just one player.
Take turns everytime you die or finish a level? And I only have one controller anyway.

It's not overrated, it's legitimately one of the best games in the genre. It was very common for games of that generation to not feature saving, especially platformers which are actually only about an hour or two long. If you could save, you'd breeze through the game at a pace that makes the game almost not worth buying due to (what we would consider by today's standards) a lack of content.

The shoe power up thing is barely a legitimate bad point so I don't really have a response to that lol.

What's the point if it only appears once? And it's half way through the game. Some people might not play long enough to see it. And some might use warps, skipping the level entirely. And why do you lose the power up once you beat the level?

Legend Of Zelda for NES could save.
