Is the next Doctor Jeremy Clarkson?

Oh Gosh, I hope not.

Sniff.....goodbye David...best Doctor ever.... :'(
Hunkiest Doctor Ever
He'd better be good >:(
He'd better be hunky.

Apologies if I offend you with my "tar everyone with the same brush" attitude. I still think that Tennant was far too ambivalent for his own good, and the only reason that so many people liked him is because he was "hunky". I do apologise again if this isn't why you think he was the best Doctor ever, or if anyone disagrees with my opinion.

I mean, he was very wacky, yet he seemed to be able to snap into "if you do x to <insert race here> I'll <insert threat here> you. Whereas Eccleston was very moody, angsty. He'd just fought the Time War, seen his entire race wiped out, killed numerous Daleks, and he's stuck by himself. He has grown cynical of the Human race. When he does smile, or act funny, it's a nice, almost special moment, almost like this dark cloud does have a silver lining.

I still want James May to be the next Doctor. He's eccentric enough to be one.

Oh Gosh, I hope not.

I'm THE DOCTOR and THIS is my TARDIS. She weighs one hundred fifty kilograms and fires two hundred dollar, custom-tooled cartridges at ten thousand rounds per minute.

I loved Tennant, yet I did not find him hunky.
I found him funny at the best times, and I was interested in watching Doctor Who. When Eccleston was the Doctor, I hated the show. I found him boring, uninteresting and too serious for me to connect with. It wasn't until Tennant was introduced that I liked it.

This is coming from someone who hasn't watched any of the older series. I'm assuming you have? That would give us a varied opinion on what the Doctor should be like.

I hope the next Doctor does a better job than Eccleston and is interesting in their own way without being like Tennant. Variety is good.

I'll admit that Tennant had specs appeal.

mm, I quite like Tennat as the doctor... but I really liked Eccleson as well... maybe I was remembering him in other stuff... still, he was.. fantastic. And making fun of this ears. Yay : D
He was, in a sense, a different kind of doctor... and that was portrayed in his acting, having lived through the time war and being alone etc.. yes.

Is RTD leaving the same time about as tennant?

True, true. Every Doctor is different in his own way.

As for RTD...I'm not sure if he's leaving. I know that he is, just not sure when he's leaving.

Well I grew more on David Tennant than Christopher Eccelstone, since he'll have been around for 3 series, but I still liked Eccelstone alot and was dissopointed when he regenerated. I found his mixed attitude very amusing and would have liked to see more of him. No other Doctor lasted just one series...

I found David halarious in the way that he always seemed to crack a joke, even when the world was on the brink of distruction...and I'll miss that bit mostly...
Yes.

 This is really depressing. It's like being told we're not going to Disney. Or I'm not going to get another brother...

...Less than two months till the next one! I'm getting bored with Tennant, but at the same time I don't want to have a new Doctor that I don't like. Like, a normal one. Or one like Oscar  O0

And who said Jeremy Clarkson was going to be the next Doctor?!  :o

Well, the odds are on Paterson Joseph, Robert Carlyle and James Nesbitt to take the role. Personally, I want Nesbitt, I saw him in Jekyll, and he was pretty awesome.

Does anyone actually know anything real about who the next doctor is going to be? Have any clues been given out?

YES xDD he was awesome

On the concept of dissolving gold into plasma:
Paul Merton: "Did you ever try that?"
Tom Baker: "I think I did, in The Sontaran Experiment."
Paul Merton: "How did that go?"
Tom Baker: "****ing disaster."
