Without being overly harsh or anything.. I think what Ben meant to say is that it's hard to really qualify breeding ability (quiet) because it's so heavily reliant on luck. I think if anything, refraining from RNG shows your test of patience because you're battling so much against luck. I lost that battle back in March to be fair, time and efforts just left me.. more battling with my urge to sling my DS out of the window as I hatched yet another Pokémon with fantastic IVs and a terrible nature/ability/hidden power..

Hm.

The Tyranitar is fantastic mate, I've just noticed too that you've gone for an Unnerve one. What're you planning on using it for.. I know it's utterly amazing at drawing bluffs (lack of Sandstorm)..

It's just a general attacker on a kind-of-sun VGC team. Fire Punch in sun with Unnerve overkills an Occa Berry Scizor, and it appreciates the negated water weakness.
Might not end up using it anyway. Quad fighting weakness, even with Chople Berry, is more crippling than I expected...

I really like Basculin, so I bred one. It's the best Basculin I've bred... it was one out of four.

Basculin (M)
Reckless, Sassy
29/26/31/27/31/26

Not so bad.

Sassy is +Sp. Defense, -Speed, so it's unfortunately not very useful. Try to use that one as a parent with a Jolly Ditto and pass the nature from Ditto with an Everstone. Also, Adaptability is the best ability for either Basculin, as it makes the STAB multiplier 2x instead of 1.5x, making Waterfall even better.

Adding on to what Richard said, try and see if you can catch a Jolly Ditto with 31 Attack IVs. Just grab a Jolly Synchronizer and catch Dittos until you get one with 31 Attack IVs.
Speaking of which, I could grab some decent pokemon and IV breed.

I'll have to get one from SoulSilver, my game where everything good comes from and Perfect IV's live. If I want to breed Basculin, I don't have to use the one I've just bred because I can use his father, which has the same perfect IV's. I think I have a perfect Attack IV Ditto on SoulSilver, so catching only has to be done if it doesn't have the corresponding nature. I might "tackle" Basculin breeding, but I recently discovered something on my SoulSilver game that may be useful for breeding :

Granbull (F)
Ability: I'll check but I'm not sure atm.
Nature: Brave
IV's:

Keys.
 ? = I don't know this number.

?/31/?/?/?/?

I haven't given you much to work with. I don't know the rest of its IV's other than the highest. This was a wild Pokemon from the old Pokemon Emerald game. It's vague with so many missing IV's but I've started breeding with it, and the Snubbull will be transferred and checked for their IV's and ties between them in BW1. I didn't use IV cal for them but I can be sure of their highest IV's. Snubbull breeding is what I've started!

Maybe these Snubbull will make it into the IV-league. But first their IV's will have to be EV-aluated.

Celebi
Natural Cure | Timid
Fateful Encounter | 31/10/31/30/31/30 | Untouched @ Lv50
Leaf Storm | Recover | Nasty Plot | Healing Wish
Hidden Power Fire 70

I just cannot stop smiling.. finally got myself a Timid Celebi. I've wanted one of these for absolutely.. years, ever since I saw it in Nintendo Official Magazine as part of the Generation II 'dex. I never tried the Bag Egg glitch on G/S/C, and I've never had the fortune to get to an event for one. Forgot that I had downloaded the Wondercard for it, lodged behind the event Raikou and Entei.

Yaaay :D

I am rather jealous, I've not really emigrated any RNGing across to White 2 (don't have Black 2 yet) so I've not had chance to try for any of the Hidden Grotto Pokémon yet. Is it easy to determine which Pokémon turns up..?

Chansey
Natural Cure | Bold
Hatched at Lv5, Mauville City | 31/24/31/31/28/31 | Untouched @ Lv5

I don't know if you can RNG to make a certain Pokémon turn up, but otherwise no, it's completely random (and there's only a certain chance of getting a Pokémon at all, let alone what species it is).

I RNG'd my first ever thing last week - HP Flying Bagon ^^ generally I do prefer breeding, but I can't justify taking all that time off uni work right now, so my VGC team will likely be RNG'd this year.

Adaptability
HP: 31 / Atk: 31 / Def: 31 / SpAtk: 31 / SpDef: 31 / Spd: 31

Take that RNGers! Orange eaters. This one was devastatingly hard. It took so long but I finally have a prized Corphish. I'd say it was worth it. The sad part is, it's so perfect I'm just going to throw it into my PC box like a trophy. :(

I do want to start RNGing, but I'm stuck doing things the hard way. Anyone know where I can find a Gen V rng reporter?
