I hand over the package 'I will be delighted to meet you by the flagpole'. I said.

As I walk down the corridor I am stopped by an Umbreon who insist I take my box off his hands. I open it. 'Oh my! A metal coat' I said in an astonished tone.

Continuing to the flag pole I sit on the soft warm grass and await the Beedrill's presense. Looming at my Metal Coat. 'Oh I just want to use it' I said.

I think what Beedrill had in his box. I think what he wants with me. I just wish he would hurry the suspense was killing me.

((My dear apprentice... It's not like there's only one Beedrill in the building. There can be more than one student who's a Beedrill, just the one that Despair ran into wasn't Wielder. The different Beedrill was delivering somewhere else, Wielder was delivering to 207.))

The box I got from Scyther gives off a jingling sound. I retreat into my room and close the door. I stab the parcel with my drill and rip it open.

//9 Poison Barbs, 1 Sticky Barb//

//Well, this is quite a lavish gift. More assassination tools.//

I suck away the String Shot sealing my Kakuna pack and dump the contents of the package inside. I reseal the shell with a new String Shot.

//Now it's about time to meet that Scyther outside...//

I burst into the hallway and break through its large window. The glass crumbles off me like pieces of a Butterfree's wing. Not a scratch.

I hover down to the flagpole and notice that Scyther waiting on the grass. I see the Metal Coat set on her scythe.

"You know, when I first saw you, I already had a feeling that you'd be getting a Metal Coat out of your package," I comment. "Now," I say, throwing my drill out and pointing at her, "I challenge you to a duel."
I am your master.

I stand up. Clutching the box in my Scythes. Dropping in to the ground the Metal Coat rolls out and stops little short of my foot. Raising it slightly I slowly place it onto the Metal Coat to create the suspense. As my foot comes into contact the whole area is filled with a bright white light.

The Beedrill is blinded as the metamorphosis takes place.
My Schythes begin first as they narrow closer to my wrists and form claws. Then my body begins to darken and change to red. I grow slightly bigger and look out at the startled Beedrill as my evolution is nearly complete.

I raise my claws into the air and cross them over each other to form an X. Then as I bring them down to a battle stance the light is dispersed at an alarming rate as I am left there. Making eye contact with the Beedrill

'Usually I am not a violent Pokemon, but Beedrill. Today, today is a new day, and today I accept the duel.' I explain as I clamp my claws shut with almighty force in an intimidating manner.

'I'm Keen to try out my new claws.' I inform.

"Ah, evolution. Truly beautiful, my Scizor friend. It seems that you've gotten just a little bigger. But no matter. I'm surprised only because I expected you to see how much damage you could inflict on me as a Scyther, and keep the Metal Coat as a last resort. But unfortunately, that is also what a coward would suggest..." I reply.

My wings speed up and grind the air between them into a heavy, never-ending ringing sound. I put forth my drills, one of them drawn back like a hand on a bowstring and the other out in front. "You picked the right time to evolve, as my only apparent attacking move is Poison Sting," I start to say, "but I shall warn you, Steel-type, that the attack can really 'get under your skin.'"

//She may underestimate me now that I've told her that I have only one attacking move. And she'll lower her guard, perhaps. It's happened before. Other Pokemon I've faced ended up dead that way.//

Beginning our duel, I appear behind the Scizor and tie her tightly with String Shot from the chest to the waist. The String Shot tightens and pulls open a gap in the exoskeleton between her shoulders and torso. The flesh beneath the exoskeleton shows for an instant. I stab the flesh with Poison Sting between each shoulder.

I am aware that the steel rejects any Poison-type attack. But if I can get past that, there is a chance for Poison Sting.

I swing the Scizor out of the way by the string. I fly after her with my drills. "You're keen to try out your new claws," I say.

//This is a duel. I shouldn't wait for the opponent to attack. For me, it is quite a friendly match.//

((Let me know if it looks like I'm powerplaying. I try not to, but making consecutive strikes moves the story along rather, in my opinion, instead of worrying too much about powerplaying that we'll be too afraid to even strike each other. :yeswink: ))

I am flung forward with an almighty force. Granted I was not ready for such a quick reaction from the Beedrill. Homing my senses I begin to concentrate. I too begin to beat my wings in an attempt to slow me down. 'I must concentrate' I think to myself.

A group of Pokemon quickly gather to form a circle around us. The pressure to win builds in. I do not wish to hurt this Pokemon but he was the instigator of this duel so he must pay for what he has started.

Concentrating on his moves I am ready for what he throws at me. Knowing his Poison stick will have little effect on my front if he were to get behind me it would be the end of the duel. 'I must keep the Beedrill infront of me at all costs' I think again.

I eye up the two front stingers that the Beedrill has . Such powerful weapons. I need to immobilize them somehow. I build up the speed in my wings so that they are at the full speed as I suddenly dark to the left flank as fast as I could. Turning sharply I move the blurry figure of the Beedrill from the vision in the side of my head so that it is facing my directly in front. I must be about 15 Metres away from the Beedrill as I begin to move in with lightning speed.

Zig Zagging across the grass in order to put the Beedrill off my target. Leaping up I fly through the air and grab the front stingers as hard as I could inside my claws. I in-bed my feet solidly into the ground to give sturdiness as I slowly squeeze the stingers in-between my claws as hard as I could.

'Yes, I am wanting to try out my claws, how are they doing?' I say as I try and make the Beedrill whimper in pain. 'It is said that my new pincers, which contain steel I hasten to add, can crush any hard object I get a hold of into little bits. Shall we test this theory, or do you want to give in?' I ask.

//Again, I don't think that this should be powerplay. I am up to stop whenever you wish//

I walk into the corridor when I hear crashing and drilling sounds from the floor above me. Well, I have nothing better to do so I jump into the elevator and up I arise.

As soon as I walk out of the elevator I look out of a window and see a Scizor and Beedril in mid-battle next too the flagpole outside. They don't seem to have noticed me watching from above, so I take out a fold-up deck chair, a box of popcorn, a video camera and a laptop with the Upload page on YouTube showing. It's amazing how much can be fit in these pants.

When all else fails, watch a good fight. Boredom quenched.

"What a strange way to ask that question. Leaving the decision to be crushed up to your opponent, as if you already have him at your mercy... Ah, well. I'll just have to remind you that my drills aren't my only weapon," I reply.

I spin a String Shot into the Scizor's face and block her sight. I stretch my stinger up to my body and wind a protective layer of String Shot around it.

//The Scizor is hesitating. If you threaten to crush me, it's nothing but an empty threat if you've lost the opportunity to do it.//

The Scizor keeps her grip firm despite her lack of sight. I use her pincers as a pivot as I swing over my head, come back around, and smack the Scizor in the chin with my reinforced stinger. The stinger throws her off me into the air.

"They say that one string of web is stronger than a string of steel," I tell her.
I am your master.

Kdintranet & Scizau

I stand there for a moment. Thinking what to do next. Then removing the String shot from my eyes I look at the Beedrill.

"Enough!" I shout

"There is no need for us to battle each other, We both know there is going to be no winner. We're both as strong as each other, just in different ways. There must be a reason as to why you have brought me out here, spit it out. Tell me what you want with me' I say.

"Calm yourself. This fight isn't about strength or skills. There is no elaborate scheme here, and there's no deep answer to your question. You looked strong, nothing else," I say quietly but firmly. I turn my back. "Every person has his or her own best way to get to know someone," I explain. "Or, rather, every person finds a suitable way to approach that someone according to first impressions. I fought you because you looked like the kind of Pokemon that would get to know someone best in the heat of battle. I am that kind of Pokemon myself."

I hover away into the air and stop next to the glass window. I turn around to face the Scizor, as the intimidating buzz of my presence makes the standing shards of glass flake off the window's frame and fall to the ground. "That was a nice duel we had. I'm sure your trainer would have been proud..." I tell her before retreating into the building through the broken window.

//So, that there is Scizor. I'll gain the trust of each one of you and turn you against Despair if she gives me more of a hard time. But I can handle her myself for now.//

I look out the window on the deck chair only to see the battle has ended. Dammit, I needed SOME way to kill time! I fold the chair up and stuff everything back into my pants. "Well, I may as well head back down to the break room now the parcel has been delivered, I have nothing else to do." I say to myself, stepping into the polished elevators and pushing the button for floor 1.

I step out of the elevator and make my way to the break room. At least I can grab another Cheetos bag. I dig my hand into my packet and pull out a one pound coin, kicking the door to the break room open.

There is next to nobody here. I look around to see the place is almost deserted. "Everyone must be still delivering the parcels" I say to myself again. I don't really know why I speak to myself. It could be because I miss my...

...trainer.

The thought sends a shiver down my spine. Okay, I feel a BIIIIIT guilty about what I did to the guy, but he could've at least brushed up on his poffin cooking skills. Then again, since that little "incident" happened I have been pretty lonely. My trainer had another Pokemon and me and that guy were the best of friends. His name was Zachary the...

I glance over to the table tennis table and see a Pancham hitting the ball out of a window, trying to hit Pidgeys.

Zachary the Pancham. Surely it can't be him? Then again, neither of us were a big fan of Flying types. Why else would we convince our trainer to give us a TM for Ice Punch?

The Pancham notices me in the other side of the room, and suddenly he jumps in shock and runs towards me.

Yep, it's him.

I leave the Beedrill student that I killed to rot in a pile of broken glass just outside the building. I turn the door to Room #207 forcefully out of the way with a wave of Psychic energy. On my bed, there is a package lying on its side. It's tied down so tightly with wire that the box looks almost round. 394, it's written.

Resting here comes at a cost. I'll have to do what my host says if I want to stay here. So I have to run an errand, to deliver a package. Then I'll lock myself in my room and plan out my next move. I can't stay at this wretched school forever.

My window. It's been repaired. But the String Shot I drew out from the flagpole is still clinging to it. But... it's hanging. I notice. The string is jammed with needles, Poison Sting. He's here.

Room #394. I leave the package at the door. I carried it all the way effortlessly, levitating it in the air. It's no longer my concern.

I concentrate a large Psychic force below me and push a round platform out of the floor, lowering it down to the floor below as I stand on it.

I reach the door to Room #207. A Charmander passes by me, and I sense the chill that runs down his spine and the drop of sweat that slips down his face. His flame is burning low. I enter my room, and as the door flies into its frame, the gust of air blows the Charmander's flame back to its normal size. The Pokemon sighs in relief.

The Pancham charges towards me like a fox in a wind tunnel, tripping over a couple of table legs on the way. He immediately gets me in a headlock and gives me a noogie. Yep, it's Zachary. And he definitely hasn't changed.

Eventually he let's me out of the headlock to twist my neck back into position. He wasn't deliberately being an ass, that was how we used to greet each other.

Zachary is first to speak. "Zero, I haven't seen ya in years! Where'd you go, pal?"

It's all coming back to me now. The good times I had with my trainer. Helping him defeat Alder, training against wild Pokemon and becoming champion. No, he was the champion there. Not me. If it weren't for him, I'd still be in the wild...

And probably dead.

I left him unconscious after a sneak attack and stole what was dear to him just because I thought it looked good, leaving the rest of the team wondering where I was, and that includes my best friend.

I put the amulet in the palm of my hand, and Zachary immediately snatches it. "What the hell, man?" I shout.

"Dude, our trainer has been searching for this for years! How did you find it?"

"Um... Yeah, found it. That's right, um... Just outside the Castalia City Pokemon center! Heh..."

Zachary gives me an ice cold stare. He isn't as dumb as he looks. "You stole it. Didn't you?"

I grab the amulet out of his hands and put it back around my neck. "Alright, fine! I stole it, are you happy?"

Zachary rolls his eyes. "Dude, you deserted your trainer, the team and most importantly, your best friend. All because you wanted some accessory?"

A tear drops on the Icicle Badge. No, don't cry now Zero. You're strong, you don't to have to -

I burst into tears. Dammit, I hope there aren't any security cameras in here.

Zachary hardly seems affected. He just facepalms, let's out a sigh and says "Dude, I'll be honest. I would've done the same thing."

I can tell he wouldn't, he's just trying to make me feel better. But hey, I'll take what I can get. Especially when I have tears capable of flooding the floor within two minutes.

"Zero, you can keep the amulet. I'll keep your secret. I won't tell anyone else. Alright?"

I rub my left eye. No. I can't stand this guilt. I stole what was dear to my trainer, and my trainer made me feel... Happy. There isn't another word for it. He provided a home when I needed one, he provided food, drink and most importantly, friends.

I put money in and get a Mars bar out of the vending machine. I eat the bar in one bite and then scrawl something onto the wrapper. I go up to the window and use two fingers to whistle, making a Pidgey fly towards me.

I put the amulet around the Pidgey's neck and put the wrapper in it's mouth, as Zachary sees what I wrote. 27 Whitfield Avenue, Nimbasa City. It's my trainers old address. I won't be able to go back to him and give this back, so I'll need some help.

I salute the Pidgey as it flies off in pursuit of my old trainer. Zachary on the other hand, just stands there speechless which his jaw on the ground.

"Dude... You gave up a solid gold amulet and gave it back to the one you deserted."

I shrug. I couldn't cope being in here with that aura of guilt surrounding me.

Zachary pats me on the shoulder. "I'm proud of you buddy. I'm sure our trainer will be too."

I'm worried about that Scizor. Does she hate me now? I only wanted to gain her trust, to get to know her. No... not to turn her against Despair. I've got it wrong. I need to gain the trust of everyone here to get them out of the way. I have to realize that Despair and I aren't the only ones here.

Despair has always been meek and gentle around her trainer, but merciless to her enemies. To her, others have always been either friends or enemies, and she has never considered taking advantage of anyone else. But that has changed.

By staying here, that coward Despair is using those around her as a disguise. If she were to gain anyone's trust, that would thicken the disguise. That is why I must get to them first. I must gain the trust of everyone in this building so Despair can't turn them against me. So that no one will get in my way or question my actions as I move to kill her.

A package sits on my bed in Room #417. It's wrapped in a cage of tape. What could be in there, I wonder? Well, if I open it, I'll only see assassination tools in there. Those are the only presents I ever get.

Room #207. I rap the door with my right drill three consecutive times. After a fit of knocking, I decide that there's no one in the room. Ah, well. I leave the package at the door.

I pass by the large window in the hallway through Room #207. The String Shot hangs on the flagpole. My eyes follow the path of the String Shot to its other end. //Its other end is the window to Room #207//

Despair's room... 207.
I am your master.

After successfully cheering me up a bit, Zachary says "Well now youre back, how about a battle like old times?"

I shrug. Me and him battled countless time years ago, and nine times out of ten I would lose and end up in a Pokemon center. Well, after so long not seeing the guy, I guess a battle would cheer me up a bit. I give the okay signal and we head down to the school grounds to begin.

We both get into position. He has defeated me so many times, but I have learned since then. I'm not going to lose to him.

Not this time.
